Good to know. Just read you need a good active soil.
Insect frass should have the right bio.

I guess learn something new every day.
I recently purchased some Mikrobs for my beds. I liked the mix, has molasses in it. Should ramp up soil biology if what it claims on the bag is true. We'll see.

Hey folks, update here! So we are finishing up week 3 of flower. Buds are forming nicely. This is my first grow so I’m not sure what to expect in terms of leaves fading out and when. But I feel like this is a little early?
I have fan leaves lightening up and turning yellow on me slowly. I’ve top dressed with the 4-7-1 organic tomato stuff (which is only dehydrat chicken manure and bone meal)
I did 1.5 tbsp per gallon of medium and mixed in the top layer and watered it in.

Is this yellowing of fan leaves normal?

Should I just keep going with what I’m doing?

I feel like they look a bit better in the pics and more yellow in real life.

Ah yes the famous week 3 yellowing. Newb here so just my thoughts. Plants use up a lot of food in the stretch. Either transplant to much bigger pots one week before flip or go heavy on the top dress right at flip and continue weekly. More experienced folks around here suggest the fish hydroslate. If you can get it that would give your plants a boost quickly. Neptune’s harvest 2-3-1 I think is what’s been recommended a lot.
good luck.

What do you think of my top dress of choice? Is it not of a similar NPK ratio of many flower nutrients? Should I go out and buy something else? Will the effects take more than say a week to be noticeable? Will the yellow leaves ever recover? Sorry but I’m learning everything for the first time. Just need some direction. I’ve done hundreds of hours of reading but I’m still full of questions.
Thanks!

I think people switch to flowering nutrients too quickly and cut all the N when they flip. For me I had to feed with 4-4-4 longer into flower.

yeah I have ready that quite a lot lately. I also, top dressed right after flipping to flower with a layer of worm castings which are supposed to be rich in nitrogen but I didn’t notice much difference.

perhaps a worm tea would be a good supplement right now

Worm castings is only a 1-0-0 on the bag so it’s not rich in anything until everything is broken down. Run a 4-4-4 or similar until after the stretch is over.

Its more so how quickly the NPK becomes available. As said the fish stuff is highly recommend by the good folks here.If your in the usa you can get it.

So we’re going to go with nitrogen deficiency in early flower as the “diagnosis”
Sure, very common from my time around here.I had it also.Week 3 like clock work.I up potted from 5 to 10 gallon 1 week before flip.Plant doubled in size,Ive been mixing Gaia veg and bloom every week.At week 3 I noticed yellow.Ive upped my dosage and it appears to have stopped.Yellow leaves are still yellow but no new yellowing.
