Flipping to flower tomorrow

I defoliate a bit when I toss plants into flower. after 2 weeks in flower I do a a final lollipop and defoliation. Any branch that’s not going to get enough light to produce solid buds gets cut. Throughout flower I remove fan leaves that through major shade on buds and anything that is dying off.

I'd be pissed if I only got a ½oz per plant lol. I wouldn't bother with all this for that low of a yeild
This run was more for fun while I develop mothers and clones, was going for a SOG from seed just to learn about the strain, the stretch factor ect. I would need 4 to 8 OZ a month. Yea lol. I was going off of a post saying pot sizes and yield and it said a half OZ off a one gal and an OZ for 2 gal.

Is this able to yield more if they need to be and are feed more than twice a day? or at all? I do not think now is the time to ask what you think they will yield, but if you think you know, let me know lol. 250w LED.

Even at 4oz per plant it had better be some real good smoke if I’m going to keep that cut around
You guys do realize plants can be different sizes right? Caring about yield per plant without taking into account veg time or size is just nonsense. And especially for newer growers who should be more concerned with getting a healthy plant to the finish line and learning to dry and cure properly.

Was about to edit my response to the last person, my first indoor flower, and recently realized just this. The breeders did all that work for me.

Yeah, yield is extremely unpredictable when growing from seed. Just do many variables. Only way to really predict yield is if your running clones of a strain your already familiar with and have your setup completely dialed in.

First few indoor grows you should prioritize getting your methods down. Yield can come later if that's what you want to target. Personally I care more about quality. Some of my favorite strains to grow are sub par yielders cause the terps and high are phenomenal.

I am trying to find the shortest flower strains of 45, to 60 days with perpetuating and have a bigger veg tent for extra space for autos. So I figured I should get there quick lol. I have Quick One, 5-9 week life cycle auto.

That light looks like it needs to be that high to cover both plants but It could be 12 inches above canopy with fan aswell
I think it said 14 to 16 inches veg and 12 inch for flower. This is very high. It scorches at 24”. Common finding in my searching with LED, not everyone has this issue though. I heard raising is better than dimming so they get as much of the spectrum as they can.

Was thinking of getting two of them asap. They will overlap but they did when this was in veg tent with same brand 130w. They overlapped and plants were growing better from the sides. So, soon I will have two 250W, plenty for a beginner.

I defoliated my 3 plants 4 or 5 times during veg….I’m growing in organically dry amended coco and the growth was rapid. You wouldn’t believe the volume of leaves that I snipped.
i just flipped to flower and they are lollipopped pretty good with an even canopy.
I was hoping I wouldn’t have to do much more defoliating. 74F6FD1F-3AB9-4C87-9D40-09CD37C3A894.jpeg186A5252-4180-4278-97C8-8609DD2D6397.jpeg

LEDs can be dimmed no problem, the issues with dimming and spectrum changes is really just with HIDs.

Hello,

Nice! Looks well kept, I may just be a bad researcher online but it is hard to find journals that are complete that show LST, things covered already on this thread and ect. I found some, but strains can differ soo far from yours at the time.

I will for sure defoliate but as stated, the plants are just now going through enough stress flipping. Or maybe not! Part of why I posted this. Also because this is where the “ride” begins lol.

Another great example incase i forget what branches to leave and cut. Planted seeds, planning on focusing more on training and going from cup to finishing pot.

Here's 14 girls in 3 gallon pots, organic soil under a 600w HLG Blackbird at 60%. They've been pruned twice so far. Don't be afraid to take a few fan leaves off, it helps with light penetration and air movement. People make a far bigger deal about it stressing the plants than it does in reality. I even usually defoliate once during flower without any ill effects.

That is good to know and yeah I was on the otherhand at first was worried about blocking light to other nodes but was just not sure what to expect today and tomorrow and on lol. I think I will give it a trim unless it is okay to wait a few days.

Will need to use my light baffle, I will post that on here since relevant to flowering. Realised last night as early as lights go out that I will need that. I think yall would like it, a louver meant for darkrooms haha, if they still have it for sale which i think they do.
