Hope you're right about it being just as good, i have to choose to finish out a mother box im working on in dwc or flood and drain, any1 have eny experience using rockwool slabs for flood and drain ?
I haven't used rockwool but a few times, those little starter plugs, didn't have much success with 'em and wasn't impressed. Rockwool takes to long to dry out, imo. Some have luck with it but I would use either coco, perlite or clay pebbles. Clay pebbles will require frequent cycle times, much more frequent then the other two.

so any hydro is faster than soil, but some hydro is better than other hydro?,,
is the ease of better health factor make it better to do hydro in flood drain/ eb flow verses DWC?
Ime any less medium other than water/air slows the growth of the plants. I use flood and drain over dwc because it's easier/less maintenance/and harder to have issues like root rot, but the growth rate is way faster dwc. No one way is better, just different strokes for different folks I guess lol.

Someone said rockwool doesn't dry out enough between flood, suggested to use hydroton or perolite? Hopefully some others will Ichime in
That probably means he was flooding too often. I run twice a day for 10-15 min once roots are established. Hydroton jut needs to be flooded more often. Rockwool can also affect ph I believe, like coco.

Rockwool slabs generally go under your cubes once so roots can grow further unexposed. It's just as good as you can grow it, genetics are genetics.
