Floralicious plus in a sterile res? (has kelp extracts)

Hi all,

I had root rot, and sorted it out with bleach and regular cleaning, I can detail what I did if need be, but my res is stable now and I'm running 0.1ml/L of bleach every 3 days. My question is can I use floralicious plus? It contains kelp, and I've heard people say not to use organics in sterile setups, and I would assume kelp is considered organic.

Before anyone chimes in about bennies, I'm a few weeks into flower and the ingredients listed are hard to find where I am so I'm finishing the grow sterile

I like useing a sterile res, and have been for a few years.

I never personally saw any benefit to the grow when I previously tried using floralicious. It just made my res dark colored. I imagine being used in an organic grow to feed the microbes would be its best use.

Ok cool thanks for the feedback, and just out of curiosity how do you keep your res sterile? And did you use floralicious plus while running sterile?

I use a pool shock solution. There is a whole thread about it around here some place.

I don't think I was running a sterile res yet when I used it. That was years ago at this point though.

What caused your root rot? I've used floralicious plus in the past and have fair results with it. I would be more concerned with the root rot than the additives you are wanting to apply. If you have root rot issues the plants will have a hard time absorbing nutrients no matter what supplements you are wanting to try. Using bleach kind of worries me. Were you using it mid grow? If you have a light proof res that's reasonably cold with enough oxygen then you should be fine.
