flourecent lighting

can you use a regular flourecent light ( i used it for my iguana )
and a regular 26 watt twist flouecent light bulb from the local grocery store for growing?

so far my plant has grown but iv compared it and its growing slower than others i see on the site!

i useally grow out doors
not and indoor fan but its winter so ya

you can use the fluorescents as long as their the right color spectrum which is going to be 6500k for vegetative stage and 2700k for flowering and you want to keep them as close to the plant as possible without burning them generally 1-2 inches away. Also go ahead and get a 2-3 6500k CFL's to place around the plant now for veg. stage and then add a couple more 2700k CFL's later when you switch to 12/12 you'll get much better results

It don't matter how old you are unless you enjoy and respect the herb as one of mother nature's creations.
