FLOWER FLIP

... Mars hydro tsl2000 ...
Thanks. For reference - I have a 2 x 4 x 5 tent with two Timber 2VL's ( a 9" x 42" footprint with the lights hung end to end ) 20" above the canopy with a few inches to spare - and that's after the plants have completed their stretch.

The TSL2000 is a 10" wide light so there should be room along the sides for the filter/fan. One last question - it's hanging 18" above?

At 18", M.H. reports centre readings of 872 umole/m2/s. DLI of 38 for flower.

You are OK with a hanging height of 18" - would that extra 6" help?

usually add filter after couple weeks into flower. Although these already smell stanky. I may throw it on next couple of days

I trained these down and topped them fairly early so they grew bushy and not tall. I knew the height I was working with so I like to lst to the max. Even if they stretch 2ft now, I think ill
Be safe. I can but the light all the way up to the 4inch ac infinity. It’s about 7inch altogether so it puts me right at 10 inches or so from the top.

They have stretched about 6 inches already and are still about 22 inches from the light so it gives me another 6 inches roughly before I have to move the light up. I think ill just throw her up the full foot when I move it and call it done. I think she will be right on the cusp of not burning and being far enough away.

How about this ...

... hanging both of them off of the BACK bar. Opens up the area directly over top of the lights. The spiked hair-do of the VL heat sinks are not obstructed by either the fan or the filter.

I wouldn't rearrange them now with the 8 square feet of plants you have going below cause you know it's not going to end well.

But it might be worth it before you start your next grow.

Did I really reply with "Is your fan is hanging ..."

I need to consult the Grammar Police before I hit Post Reply!!

I see what you are saying. Will try that for sure. Thought you meant my fan fan lol

No ... I meant your exhaust fan. But if you want, you can put your fan fans kitty corner to each other.

One of those fans clipped to the front left pole about 4" above the top of the canopy. Have that fan angled slightly upwards and blowing a little towards the front flap of the tent. When the flap it's closed, the air will bounce off the front flap. Clip another fan to the back right pole about 8" higher than the left pole fan. Angle that fan slightly upwards and slightly towards the back wall of the tent.

With both of those fan fans going in that set-up, you will get the air swirling around the entire grow space and not blowing directly onto the plants.

Week one of flower has ended and the stretch has begun. I know some said it was too late for scrog but I tent to disagree at this point. I think she is going to fill out the 4x2 quite nicely with a semi even canopy and good amount of tops. After one week of flower these babies already stink like gas. Going with a feed, water, water, water schedule. Seems to keep my ppms in order. Everything cruising so far.7FFE8082-1AFC-413A-B4BD-8500426571CB.jpeg

Did you make the scrog or buy it? And what's that small white cylinder hanging above the leaves?

Yes we did - because some have a different definition of a SCROG. This is mine:

The branches are spread laterally during VEG - then once the 2' x 2' net is filled I flip to 12/12.

I bought it but had to add some twine to fill out the edges. This was a nylon trellis net and I didn’t like it that much. As I got it tighter, it started bending inward. The small white thing is the temp gauge hanging. She’s mid week 2 of flower today. 0A5D018A-4537-4131-8B8C-37D9CC619E2F.jpeg

Now that I’m looking I don’t think I’ll have to scrog. Just support is all ill need I’m thinking. I hate the 5 ft height on my 4x2. I’m getting a taller one for next grow. It’s awful with only 5 ft of room for lights and exhaust and fan. I’m making due for now though.
If you have the room put your exhaust fan outside top of the tent. Put the carbon filter on the discharge side of the blower. If you have the prefilter sleeve for the lets suck air install. Sew one end shut. Put it down in the carbon filter and slip the fittings together. Then just run a short piece of flex from the blower into the tent. Your exhaust fan will load properly and run quieter. Then you have more room for the lights and get the stretch on.

That would work. But I believe they designed the filters to have air sucked into them - hence the cloth pre-filter.

So @allgrownup311 - for your next grow, were you gonna go with the back bar set-up that I had recommended? It works well with those long skinny lights.
