Flower room setup

This will be my first grow I'm just looking for something cheap an simple. I planned on building a 4x4 tent out of PVC and wrap it in panda paper, 1000w MH light setup, 6" rotating fan. I'll be using 5 gallon smart pots. I was wondering if that is a alright setup and how many plant will I be able to fit in there?

You don't know how thick the canopy will be. 1000w for a 5x5 space for coverage, and don't forget penetration! What about dealing with heat? Are u venting the light? Fresh air in and exhaust? Size of plants matters for space. So if ur doing one big plant u need the thousand, but if your doing 6 small to get 2 oz each then go with the six. Remember, plants can double in size during flowering. You could flood that tent with 1000w and one plant. Co2 bag and get 8-10 oz in 3-4 months or do six small for 2-3 and get just as much... I'm expecting 12-16 oz out of my biggest ones, maybe more.. 3 weeks left, colas are big as my arm. Hydro, GH line for nutrients, old school... 8 1000w Lights, 5 gallon buckets, CO2 injection. 18 very happy girls.

he's need a lot bigger pot than a 5 gallon smart pot if he wanted to do just 1 really big plant. in that pot i would say you could easily fit 4 nice sized (4-5') plants that you could lst and top and probably pull 4-5oz. off each. and all you would need is 1 600w light.

I got 7 ft tall, 4 ft wide in 5 gallon buckets... 1000w is a little much, buf if you do co2 and increase your nutrients... And u know since he's already got the light he's gonna use it.

yea, if he's got the light then he might as well use it. if it's a dimmable ballast he could get a 600w bulb and dim the ballast to 600w.

you don't have any problems with root bound plants when you go that big in that pot? i always though that it was better for the plant to have a pot that gave it room to spread out. especially when growing big trees.

I use Hydroton and when I clean out my buckets, its a huge root mass. But it doesn't seem to he hurting anything. I will consider this if i do not reach my expected yields after I remodel.
