Flowering 16/8? Possible?

I have two plants growing right now one is from seed and the other is a clone. I want both to be mother plants so I'm trying to avoid flowering them. I heard that reducing the hours of daylight increases your chances of a female so for the seed plant I turned the lights down to 16 hours, I would turn it to 12/12 but I don't want the clone to flower. Now looking at the clone it looks almost like its starting to flower. Is that possible? Any help is appreciated.

It can show sex but not flower, and lights aren't gonna make it fem.
