Flowering and lighting specifics..

Im on my first grow. Four plants under 4x26w CFL's and 1x400w HPS. I just switched to 12/12 but Im worried that light may be getting into the closet. There are slats in place for ventillation so some light may be getting in but no direct light...just a very small amount. I know that's not very specific but is there a chance that this could prevent my plants from flowering? Is there an immediate way I can tell that they have started the flower cycle aside from waiting until they show sex?

I dont believe so but as long as a tiny light is a tiny light I think youll have no problems. Think about it the moon is out more than its not, the moon creates alota night light.

I think if they see too much light, you'll get hermies. I've heard it can happen at a pretty low light output. It's probably not a big deal, but if you're worried about it...it may be worth trying to block it better.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to go inside the closet tonight before the lights come back on just to see just how bright it is in there. I have as much blocked off as I can, it's just it gets WAY too hot in there as it is so Im scared to block it off much more. I just added the HPS once I switched to 12/12 and I've had a time the past two days keeping the closet at 78*F. I had to install two new fans lastnight. Anyways, since this is my first grow I'll get some pics up tonight if you guys are interested.

I closed myself up in the closet a few minutes before the light timer kicked on. It's wayyy darker in there than I thought. There is no light what so ever touching the plants. While I was in there I did notice that there is a fairly bright light on one of those fans. If you look in the pic you can see where I put some masking tape over the little red light on the top of the fan. I even turned on a few lamps in my room and there was still barely any light coming into the closet and none hitting the plants. So I think I should be in pretty good shape! Thanks for the comments and help!
