Hey everyone, I started with 4 females.. First plant was done on day 52, Sencond plant done on day 66, Third done on day 70.. Now I am down to 1 plant, which has to be a full blown sativa.. anyway i am now on day 79 (11 weeks), the plant lost almost all its huge fan leaves the past couple weeks, and there is alot of rusty spots on the leaves.. also all pistils are still white, however a couple are starting to turn brown.

GROW SETUP: 4' 4' Closet with (1) 400watt HPS, (1) 175watt MH , (1) 70watt HPS (half light cycle), and (3) 40watt tub Flouros (vertical lighting).

a oldtime grower told me to get rid of the tube flouro's as it could be confusing her.
Does this make any sense and should I take his advice?
Should I increase the dark period gradually (to hasten flowering)?
Is losing almost all fan leaves, and most other leaves normal?

i just wanted to get some input, and make sure this plant is going to be O.K.
also any other tips, tricks, etc... would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I'm not gonna lie...

She looks pretty sexy as is. I would ride it out, and see what comes of it...

she is not fine, i have been having the same problem. ends up a little airy, low resin count, and the hairs go from white to dead....instead of heathy orange or red. i think its a magnisium deficiency. i have had the problem multiple times. i still havnt figured out what the issue is. two things i can suggest is use a mh instead of an hps as the metal halide seems to help as far as resin production and leaf health. the next is epsom salt about 1 tbs. per gallon till it dissapears which i have only tried once and it was so far into flower i dont know if it helped. the best thing i can suggest is check your ph before you water and check the runoff aswell. make sure your ph is not too low. one question....did the leaves have tiny yellow spots before yellowing and drying?

if its magmesuim the leaf tips would be praying (bending upwards), its so noticable. i have mag def every crop. advanced is low on mag.

and scribz the flouros might have them stretching towards them. an oldskool grower just told me the same thing yesterday about mine cause there low and horizontal in my room. id just make sure my ph is on and let her ride. nice sativa bro

cannabis loves calcium and magnesium but its not always a deficiency that is the culpret. a ph imbalance can lock out certain nutrients. nutrients can bind with each other and render themselves unavailable to the plants. magnetic drive pumps as well as air stones grab up iron. temperature can influence a plants metabolism of different elements...that is what causes plants to turn purple in cold conditions. co2 will accelerate everything including your plant problems...so i always reccomend to reduce co2 levels and feed program unless you are absolutely sure your plants are not overfed. sometimes overfeeding is underfeeding. in esence ...theres alot to consider in diagnosing your plants. good luck!

ps..it usually ends up ok, not great.....sometimes useless.

11 weeks.
I would cut way back on nutes and start giving more water than anything.
I think it is going to be your nutes.

I do not see what the tubes have to do with anything.
If you are running that 400w hps then any tubes would be insignificant either way/

As a matter of fact I like a lil UVB along with UVR in flower.
I have read that plants in higher elevations (usually sativa) will become more resionous and more potent.
The reasoning behind this is that they are getting more uvb than there lower elevation counterparts.

well lets see my ph is perfect right around 6.5-7.0 (test strips) this is the run-off water from the pot though. I actually have feed with epsom salt 4 times throughout grow (foliar feed). and to answer skunk, YES the leaves did get yellowish rusty spots before dying off..no chance of spider mites, had a small fungus knat problem around the time it started, highly doubt a few fungus knats could cause her to do this?
I feed with 20-20-20 biweekly through veg. and I have only feed twice during the flowering cycle with fox farm fruit & flower 5-8-4. I have not feed her in weeks and I actually just bought some cha-ching (says to use in late flowering through harvest-to maximize essential oils and resins). the guy at the hydro store says you can use it up till harvest, which sounds pretty crazy to me, i dont want to mess up the taste or burning quality.

uvb and uvr? hmm never heard of it.. is it ultra-violet radiation??? and do artificial lights produce this?? sorry I dont got a clue what im talking about..

THANK yOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a pic of her 2 weeks ago a little after she starting using her big leaves. (camera sucks)

WTF are you talking about? Healthy orange and red hairs? If the pistils are turning orange or red - they're dying already! Hardly healthy wouldn't you agree?

i think its a magnisium deficiency.
It's not Mg deficiency - it's Nitrogen deficiency - which happens a lot towards the end of flowering and is nothing to worry about.

i have had the problem multiple times. i still havnt figured out what the issue is.
Probably because it's Nitrogen deficient instead of Magnesium...

two things i can suggest is use a mh instead of an hps as the metal halide seems to help as far as resin production and leaf health.
Rubbish - pure and simple. The small amount sof UVB Metal Halides emit help with THC realisation in the Trichrome spheres - it doesn't make them produce more resin...

the next is epsom salt about 1 tbs. per gallon till it dissapears which i have only tried once and it was so far into flower i dont know if it helped.
Good cure for Mg problems, which it isn't...

the best thing i can suggest is check your ph before you water and check the runoff aswell. make sure your ph is not too low.
 The usual grasping at straws when someone's run out of ideas...

If you have only a few fungus gnats flying around occasionally, ive also noticed they like to hide inside the buds. Anyways if you do see an occasional fungus gnat flying around your roots could be completely infested with larvae, I just replanted one of my plants and I had only seen a couple fungus gnats flying around beforehand, when I pulled it from the pot there were fungus gnat larvae all over inside the pot.

Anyways just a though :peace::peace::peace:

sh#t really??? i tryed looking for larvae within the top 2 inches of soil....with no luck.
I also took some measures like letting the soil dry out completely between waterings, and triangle sticky traps on the soil..... I hope this isnt my problem..

what did the damage from the larvae infestation look like????? leaf curling? yellowing?necrosis? margin rolling? i cant seem to find any good pics of a damaged plant from fungus knats

Usually a few fungus gnats flying around are normal, and the easiest way to keep them under control is to keep your grow areas clean and not over water.

If you think you're having trouble with them you can buy yourself some Gnatrol (Bacillus thuringiensis H-14). I water everything as usual, then take a small water bottle with holes in the top, and mix my Gnatrol with enough water to soak the top couple inches (where the larva usualy live). Water away, and if there are no other locations in the house where they can lay their eggs you should have a relatively gnat free grow area within a couple days.
