Thinking more about this I think 2 5x10's with inline cool tubes vented out to a "Y" exhaust would be way more manageable to cool and work with. And you could do more with them.

Everybody saying quantum boards or COBs are calling for serious $$$. Quantum boards cover 2sqft in a 10x10 tent. That is 50 boards x $150=$7,500 + rigging and time to put it together (4500W). That is a chunk to put up front. Also in three years it will be eclipsed by something else. I think they are great for a small tent but hard to scale up until costs drop.

We did a lot of testing 4-5 years back and ended up getting rid of all of our 1000's for 600's. The 600's are the most efficient, they penetrate the deepest because of less heat and you can almost toss up two 600's for the power cost of one 1000. When you're looking at gram per what in HID's, we found 600's were the best option and have never looked back.

I run one Matrix Solistek 1000W ballast (@1100W boost) with a Y splitter to 2 -600W bulbs.

Then you need to decide how you're going to control humidity.

I think I'm gonna go with 600s the 10x10x7.5 tent is inside of a 13x13x8 room. I need to figure out how to cool this room so I think I'm gonna use a portable air conditioner. I could use a window unit, but smell is an issue and it's a room in using inside of a trailer in the trailer park so the neighbors are close. I'm going to use a few carbon filters but I'm thinking about cutting a hole on the floor to vent the warm air using the portable air conditioner. Do you think this will do the trick?

Yeah I wouldn't have the ac unit in the tent. A guy on another thread said that I need a 36000 btu mini split for the room.. wouldn't that be too much though? I'm trying to make everything as efficient as possible

A window mounted AC is going to be cheaper and easier to install. If it gets hella hot where you live then 36,000BTU is OK. Kinda depends on how well the space is insulated. Always better to have some headroom in the system. But your room is only 13x13 so you could likely get away with a 24,000BTU unit since you're going to be venting heat outside through your charcoal filter.
Hi J. What bulbs do you use in your Matrix? I was told by SolisTek that bulbs other than theirs won't run properly in the Matrix ballast. Is this just a ploy to get me to buy their bulbs? Are you getting good results with the bulbs you use?

I am running cheap ass bulbs Apollo from Amazon. Work great. I dont have a way to quantify other than my plants look great.
