i just read that u can put ur plants into 12/12 just till they show the males and then you can go back to 18/6 -and let continue to veg until you are ready to put into flower. is this true? its my understanding that once u go to 12/12 u cant go back. right?

You are talking about cloning. Where you clone (clip) two or more branches from your plants. Once your clones have grown a little bit, you can flower one of the clones to show sex of your plants. Once you know the sex you can then decard any males and just work your females on a rotating cycle where you would clip clones, grow them while your past clones are budding. Once you have harvested your buds, move your growing clones from the veg room to your flower room and you will have a constant supply of bud.
Once you flower a plant you can not turn back the hands of time. Once the plant has been placed into a flowering stage it will not be able to turn back to a veg stage. As far as I know. This goes against the laws of nature.

Yes if you clone a female you are sure to get a female. Females are what you want unless you are looking to produce seeds.

actually u can go back to the normal state. by returning to 18/6 or 24/0, etc. This will causse the plants to revert back to veg. They switch back to veg easily, thats why its necesarry to keep grow rooms so air tight

hmmm conflicting views here. i thought you needed decent air circulation in your room- so airtight would be the complete opposite- no? anyone have anymore opinions on thre veg to flower back to veg? hey if i can do that it would solve the space problem i have. 10 plants with room for only 6 when transolanted into the bigger pots i want to use.

but yeah they will revert back. any light can throw ur flowering off, thats why people never bring light into their grow rooms when its dark time and plants are flowering.

THANK YOU!

They can and will revert back to veg if you change the light cycle back. It takes about two weeks to get fully back to vegatative growth though. It also takes about two weeks in flowering to figure out the sex of your plant. So by using this method you are wasting about a month of your time. You might as well let them grow to the size you want to start flowering them at and just flower it.

Heres The Thing- I Only Have Enough Room For 6 Plants At The Size I Want Them To Be When I Flower-i Have Ten But DOnt Know The Sex Yet. So My Plan Is To Flower Till The Sex Shows-take The Best 6 Fems (if I Even Hve That Many- Plant Them In The Bigger Pots And Let Them Them Grow- Id Rather Waste A Month Than Have Any Males Hangin Around. Its All About The Space I Have- Thanks People Im Going To Start Flowr Tomorrow.

Here is what I pan on doing with my grow.

When they are at their 4th to 5th node I am going to take a cutting from the newest growth branch. This will top the plants and create two budding sites instead of one. Instead of just cutting the new growth and wasting it, why not clone the little guy (hopefully gal!) and throw it directly into 12/12 to find out the sex in about two weeks. Just keep track to which clone belong to which plant so you know which ones to discard.

There is another way to determine the sex of your plants in the earlier stages of growth, I havent personally do it but i read it somewhere. What you do it put the lower part of the plant, maybe 2 or 3 nodes up from the bottom, into the flowering stages. To do this cover that part of the plant with a black garbage bag and make sure no light is getting through. Do this at the same time ever day for 1-2 weeks andf u will know the sex of your plants

and let's not forget that messing with the light cycle during flowering often results in hermies, but you won't know for certain until you revert the 12/12's to veg and back to 12/12. I'm doing it right now with some clones that started flowering. Stuck em' back into 24/0, where they're slowly starting to show signs of returning to normal vegetative growth.
