flowering light colour

I've switched to 12-12 and just realised that I should be using a red spectrum cfl (instead of the blue that I have been using for veg).

Will it flower with blue? Will it suffer? Or is it just 'preferred' for a higher yield?

It's my first grow - 1 plant only.

Thanks :)

(Edit - sorry my bad, I now realise this should be in the 'indoor growing' forum.)

Yeah your plant with flower with the light you have no problem. My first grow with daylight cfls from start to finish.

How did that turn out for you? I read an article on another site that said some outfit in Amsterdam were proving you could get decent yield from CFL's.

yeah it will work just as fine, see, its not about the higher yield, its about the money, electricity consumption & spectrum

That $20 would be well spent. Though a plant will bloom under a "blue" spectrum if you mean a Metal Halide bulb. Though I believe wattage comes into play @ that point. I have used a 600w to -> harvest no problems. I am not sure on your exact setup but my advice is the more lighting you get the better, you will not regret it in the long run.
Great, no need to shell out another £20 then.

Thanks for the replies :)

Not bad, I would spend $40 and buy an additional set & have both spectrum of lights over your plant(s). Once again, it would be worth the time & effort you will put into this & you will not regret the investment & long as you stick around, upload pix & ask questions.
