Flowering plants under a 4 tube t5 fluorescent?

Basically my plan is to buy 10 Barnes farm critical kush seeds and start all 10 seeds and make them into 10 mother plants then take 6 cuttings off each leaving 60 cuttings, I was then going turn the flourescent on to 12/12 to determine which are female as I don't trust 100% feminized seeds, do uz think this is the right way to go about it???

Sounds excellent in theory. In reality you would have your hands so damned full trying to root and maintain 60 clones until sex was determined. Even then, if your clones/mothers get mixed up with labeling or whatever then you can't identify the clones from the exact mother you wish to carry on with. Been there and done that.

Yep, 70 plants to maintain is a full time job. lol

i'd grow em 20 days from seed, flip the light schedule for 5 days. get your magnifying glass out and chop the males.... if any, THEN top each plant and keep that as your clone. as soon as those 10 root you can decide to take cuttings off of them. this will keep you plant count much lower, require less light, and give you a little more time actually figure out which out of the 10 you like to keep as clone mothers.

wait-- HOW MANY t5 fixtures you have running for that many plants?
A grow that big is a LOT of work- and takes a lot of space!

Our 12x 14 room is divided between 2 grows of 8- with space for walking/working and fans--- and it gets CROWDED by 1/2 way thru bloom.... Unless you are doing a S.O.G with small plants- you need minimal 2 sq ft per plant of floor space and light space.

Thanks for ya input guys, what method would you recommend that's the quickest an easiest way to get 36 healthy clones from 10 seeds, I've researched a lot on the net but I would like an experienced growers view if uz would be so kind PEACE

Last time I took clones it was from 2 plants that I'd been growing about 3 or 4 months. They had been lst'd from the start. I took 35 clones. These plants were from clones themselves so I didn't have to worry about sex. If I were you I'd plant all those seeds at one time. Once they show their sex you can keep the females until they're big enough and take your clones. If you have the good luck to get mostly females you can just flower the ones you don't take the clones from. You might even think about saving a male to make your own seeds. I hope you've had some experience cloning!!

This is a great strategy! I do similar except I take clones off the top early, and discard the male clones after the preflowers show in the topped plants. No mothers, keep cloning off the top, and selecting the better plants.

you should be able to sex them befor you top them. meaning no wasted time in trying to root male clones. and no way that males can get mixed in to gen 2

Yes True but then I have to either reveg or wait till the plants show preflowers under 24/0 to take cuttings. For me the cost and time for cloning 10 plants as opposed to cloning 5 plants is almost the same.

5 days of 12/12 shows pre pre flowers, visible with a light magnification. doesnt take any more time for them to go back into veg then it does for them to recover from being topped.
