Hey growers! Are leaves always supposed to start yellowing close to harvest? I've seen it many times around here and I know its normal but does it always happen to every plant? Just wondering because my girl has been in 12/12 for about 8 weeks and she looks close to done but leaves still haven't started yellowing yet. So does it always happen? I'll post pics if you guys want I just didnt think it was neccessary. Thanks RIU!

They do not always , it can be caused by a build up of salts from feeding. Some strains can take more nutes than others, also when the plant has produced it;s flowers it no longer needs the fan leaves and takes less care of them imo.I have also noticed that some strains self shed the fan leaves that cover bud sites , even when they are healthy.

Nice that sounds dank! Mines just a bagseed ill be ordering seeds for my next grow! Another question though hopefully you can answer? Can I harvest most of the top and then lower my lights for the bottom to finish? The bottom buds look nowhere near done yet all the pistils are still white but the top nugs are lookin real nice.

You can do this , but it normally takes up more space and light it is worth , what i have done in the past is cut all the decent bud away that i want , cut the stem and pinch, then cut away all those tiny shitty little buds but carefully leaving any leafage, then slam her back into 24hr light , she will not change for about 2.5 weeks and then she will turn back into veg and start re-growing over again, only this time you will find you have muliple top cola's on your plant, usually some tieing up or a scrog screen to take up the extra weight , if you want more advise on this please ask and i will point you the right way , but for now im stoned and too much typing lol , Peace...

I only have the one plant so taking up room is ok. I'm just growing one for now so I can get all the basics down. So I should keep the bottom growing since I only have one right? That is what you were saying I think correct me if I misunderstood.

If you think it's worthwhile , chop and pinch stem above the buds you wish to grow on, remember that they never recieved the same light from the beggining as the higher buds so they wont perform as well but yes your good to go,
remember do not overwater , the plant will drink less after you chop the top away, good luck man.
