Flowering stage question

Hey everyone I had a question. I assumed my plant started the flowerig stage about three weeks ago because little bulbs began to grow and now I have a lot of those bulbs and there is a lot of pollen and little hairs. But I don't quite see the growth of the actual buds. Am I even at the flowering stage? If I am, when will the actual buds start growing considering i'm almost halfway through the flowering stage? Someone please help! It is discouraging.

They have been on a strict 12/12 light schedule.

pollen, wow, sounds like one hell of a female. u do any research, maybe compare pictures to your plant? hey, when you shake the plant, does the pollen go everywhere?

hey yeah there is a lot of pollen, that makes it a female i am guessing? i have tried googling stages of marijuana growth but i dont really get any pics that help.

and here are some pics, if you look closely you can see the pollen on the leaves.
please help me determine if my plant is flowering or not. and if it is, when will it start budding??

thanks so much

I am pretty sure this has to be a joke but if it isn't I feel really bad. :-?

Where do you think pollen comes from? It comes from male plants. You have plant sperm all over your leaves for crying out loud. You can't be serious!?!:cuss:

someone above said it must be "one hell of a female"
i assumed it was a male due to the balls

so no need to be a douche, if you are of no assistance (which is clearly obvious) then you shouldn't waste anyone's time by posting

Whoa! Nope, hon, you've got a boy there.
Pic 1) Male flowers on the right (males are what make the pollen) I think I see female bud sites on the left, and if so, oh BOY is she knocked up but good.
Pic 2) VERY male. Very.
Pic 3) Not sure, but I see male on the right and possible female on the left.
Pic 4) Oh fuck! He spooged all over himself. What a wad he had!

Because what appears to be a female has very likely been pollinated you will not get very good bud, but you will have lots and lots of seeds to work with.

Have you visited the GrowFAQs up top at all?

yea, unfortunately looks like there was a male in there somewhere.

what does this mean now? im new to this really. will the plant now put more energy to making seeds rather than buds?

seamaiden, thanks for the help. are you saying that the bud in the left of the picture will not bud well due to the pollen of the male plant??? should i change them to diff pots or is it already to late?

and is the male plant in the flowering stage? when will it begin to bud??

i have been going thru FAQ and there is a lottttt of posts so im working on it :)

and honestly i have no clue about growing, i am right now growing 5 plants that i believe to be in the flowering stage. i have never grown so i am new to this, i literally one day just threw seeds in a pot and they started growing so thats how this started.

Well if anyone here is a douche it would be you for flowering a male for 3 weeks after you saw it's nuts. You may want to do some reading before attempting things next time.

from what i know (very little) males are pretty much useless when it comes to buds/thc production?

maybe it is all too late. if you want bud, separate the boys and girls. keep girls, throw the boys.

You can transplant, but I think it's an exercise in futility at this point.

It is budding, well into it by the looks of things.

I took weeks to read through, and still have to reread a lot of stuff. There's a lot to know. But! You got them going and growing and flowering. That can be the toughest part for a lot of people. Hell, I straight killed over a dozen from my first grow phase because I burned them with fertilizer. It's all a learning experience.

Not too bad, then, for just tossing in a few seeds.

So, the deal is this, the female plant is probably pollinated. That means that her biology says, "Grow the hell out of those seeds, they're your babies!" Mary is (generally) an annual plant, so she shoots her whole wad in one season, sexual reproduction is IMPERATIVE! I really think this why this plant is SO fucking prone to hermaphrodism, too (having sexual organs of both sexes). Had one herm out on me and its buds look a lot like your girl's.

Grow 'em out, there is some THC in the males and some people make hash or edibles with them. Your girl's pregnant, so just clean out the seeds and the next time you'll know a little more. Couple of things, do some research on sexing. Males tend to flower first, and once you see it you KNOW it so they're easy to spot. If you like this weed, collect some of that pollen if you want to keep yourself in perpetual seeds (somethng I prefer because I am not likely to order seeds through the mail or online).

Umm... what else..? I can't think of anything else. They look healthy, don't change what you're doing otherwise. The girl should form trichomes, they make her look "frosty". When that gets an amber color to it she's approaching harvest time.

That boy sure did pop some big flowers there!

the male will produce no bud at all...all seeds... and if you have a female... it has now been pollinated by the male... get rid of the male... your female will produce buds but will be seedy... and by the looks of it... real seedy..... next grow make sure you kill the males as soon as you see what appear to be little clusters of balls by the stems....good luck next time...

You may as well keep the male and cook him or something. Ask the old-timers, the people who've been growing for decades, they'll tell you, it's not as good as sinsemilla female sticky bud, but it's something. And in my book something is better than nothing when you're DRY.
