Flowering too long?

Hey everyone, just a quick question. My plant is doing fine, its coming up to harvest time but my friends plant (were doing our grows 2gether and helping each other out) seems to be taking ages to finish, he reckons its still growing new bud growth but i always thought that a plant will continue to grow but the thc and cbd will break down, thus reducing the plants quality/strength. Am i right or is this just some abnormally long flowering period?, hes easily been budding for about 12-13 weeks now.

trichs are usually and indicator of when to harvest...2/3's red or somthing like that

It depends on the plants genetics. Sativas can take a good 12 weeks or more where indicas take around 6 weeks.

Do the plants look the same?

I know that lol, thats not the question i asked and its mostly amber trichs for a body stone, mostly cloudy trichs for a heady buzz, clear trichs show a sign of immaturity.

Im growing Big Bud Northern Lights (60/40) and hes growing some bag seed and a cheese plant

also hes growing under a 400watt hpd and ive got a 250watt cfl so i would of thought hed be done quicker, he has 66,000 lumens and i have like 12,000 lol

Then it's probably the individual genetics of each plant. I have a sativa that has been in flower for 5 weeks now and it's got a long way to go, dammit, I was hoping to smoke it at Thanksgiving. That's not going to happen, hell I don't know of it'll be done by Christmas even.

Ok thanks for your help , i was just worried he was gonna have a crappy smoke coz he waited too long . How can i be part of the cfl crew?

Farming toronto and Dr cronic are the CFL crew heads, Diggity Dank made me the sig pic. CFL's are a great invention, if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be growing.

Just go by the trichs, or what I do is clip a chunk and cut it up and let it sit out overnight to dry then smoke it the next morning to check the buzz.

same here, cfl's rule, it annoys me when people slate them and say hps's are the best, its not always practicle to use them. Im gonna go round my mates tonight and check his trichs again, cheers!

the longer you flower....the more cbd...the thc breaks down and turns into cbd which gives you the lazy body stone....
