I'm doing my first grow and I Was wondering when you guys remove nitrogen from feeding. I'm currently 3 weeks into flowering and have reduced my grow nutrient from 2 teaspoons to 1/2 teaspoon. i was wondering If any one completely cuts out grow Nutrient, if so when. I know you are supposed to let the plant get deprived at the end.

THANK YOU!!!! P.S. give me some bud porn plz... I have been dry for 2 months.

i never totally stop nitrogen nutes. it is important to have a good amount of nitrogen when the buds start to swell. i keep adding more and more nitrogen till around week 6 then i cut it down dramatically. the whole last week or so i dont any nitrogen.

Pics? I use a nute system called Recipe for success made by Technaflora, and the recipe calls for Grow nutes through the cycle. However, there is a lower amount of N in the flowering recipe. So, I don't know about total depravation. The one vegging nute that is used is BC Boost it is a 2-0-0 mix. So, ya the N goes down but of course that is because the plant needs more P and K in flower.

Sorry not the best of pictures, but lights are on and I only have my webcam. yeah I see that my nutrients all still have nitrogen in it, just a lot less of it. I was just curious if anybody just completely took out the veg nutrient.

I think cutting the dosage should be ok. If it were my grow I would likely do the same. They do look awesome....

P.S. if you want too see bud porn there is a thread called All my Pictures in the forum..TONS of bud porn, even some of my own. Good Luck and +REP

Thanks man! Yeah I'm a closet Guerrilla grower.. sneak in and out of other peoples closets, grow weed and they don't even notice :)
The strain is C99 from female seeds. the only survivor out of 4... bad batch of seeds accept for this beauty.

I don't know the answer to this question, but I do know that any good answer given should be different depending on if your in hydro or soil. With soil you can stop feeding nitrogen a bit earlier, but there will be some still lingering in the soil, whereas with hydro if you change out your res and put no nitrogen in it, then theres gunna be 0% nitrogen. I wouldnt know the exact timing though

ure plant will generally use the surplus Nitrogen for flowerin from its leaves, in this case nutes with a higher P-K is recommended. if you notice heavy nitrogen use up which is rare (unless u mess with nutes which i Doubt) during veg its advisable to then use Nitrogen nutes. Normally Nitrogen is withdrawn or cutdown 1-2 weeks after flowering if auto or 2-4 weeks if a regular strain.
Its buds u need mainly and not leafy material where N is crucial and flowering is the stage where its produced and for that P (vital for roots and auxins)-K is the requirement. hope this helped.

Didn't take that into consideration thank you. By the sounds of it I just have to make sure i keep giving a little or enough for the plant not get a deficiency, but enough to sustain healthy leaves until near the end.

If your doing hydro I think it is alot more important to really understand this sortof thing, because your plants will take up pretty much whatever you give them, so you gotta know its the right dose. Soil you can get away with alot more because the plants take what they want(to a point).
I think cutting off nitrogen 100% for the entire bloom phase would probably destroy your plants in hydro(just guessing), where in soil it might work out just perfectly.

I'm going to have to dig into this topic a bit more soon enough, in my first grow and flower time is fast approaching. I'm in coco which is a form of hydro, though I don't "feel" like I'm growing in hydro lol

What I'd like to know is if I have a 1 part nutrient(H&G cocos) that is meant for both Veg and Bloom, How do I cut back on N? Can I use something like PK13/14 mixed into the base nutrients so to lower the ratio of N?
