Fluffy bud time estimate...

I harvested the biggest & heavy sticky Buds and left the fluffy smaller ones to mature.

My trichomes turn Amber or even get cloudy on the ball. So I can't judge maturity by that.

Can anybody estimate how long I can keep letting them mature? Thanks.

when the trichomes are cloudy and amber those buds are mature.
they will continue to degrade after cloudy/amber is visible. how long you allow them to is up to you, there is no rule

The Little balls on top of my trichomes never get cloudy someone said it's a weird strain. They're in their 10th week.

But the stems are cloudy so I'll go by that. Thanks

oh, sorry
No problem, I didn't know they started to degrade after they turned Amber. Have you ever seen a past its prime bud with healthy leaves coming out of it.? I have a few of those. All the pistils are brown though.

THc degrades as it turns amber.

It also starts when it is killed.
Is degrading the same chemical process as decarbing?

I understand that when it's fully dried it's decarbed.

I unwittingly completely dried some bud in my dryer (which obviously needs tuning). Now it's dry and super sticky, is it decarbed since it's completely dried or does it still need 250°F for 30 min?

Oh good lord.....

ALL trich's will turn cloudy sport. That they didn't, says you might have had a light issue (exposure to light during the lights out time).....
I still don't get not knowing what your running!

I mean I understand bag seeds for learning but, really?

I'm getting grumpy, time to check out for the day.....

this plant is dying. its not going to mature properly any more than it has. maybe its done? maybe its stopped up taking nutrients? but it wont get any better I bet. snip a bud now and dry it. if you like it harvest now before mold gets to all the dead plant material inside of the buds.

Got it. I'm going to be busy and sticky :weed:

Then get to some mods before my next grow, mainly fix the light bleed on my air intake. Then become a competent journalist Thanks.

I assume that bag seeds are what you pull out of the ban and are of a unknown strain? I don't have any access to fancy-dancy strains but I gather from the Dr. that it would make a difference, maybe a big difference. Until then I'll keep developing my own strain, I call it Macho Mongrel. So far, they've all been female. So it looks like I've created feminized seeds. Kudos to me!!!

BINGO, on the light exposure in bloom!

That light leak made the plant run long and not cloud up in (proper) time........It could be run longer but it will still resist clouding and the plant will croak out before that.

I took a vacation this year. I had an employee (not familiar with my place of grow) leave an overhead light on (1 single off cycle). 10 plants were to far along to really effect. 6 others were not so lucky. They had varying related problems. From density/fox tailing, to slower/incomplete finish. Some of those turned out ok. A cpl are going to be giveaway to needy homes holiday weed.....Don't get me wrong, those are good. Just doesn't live up to my standards.

Another way to see that your plant is done or within that period that its ok to harvest is to do what the older growers used to do.
Watch the hairs- once they start to cur back in and brown its about that time, you can give it another week or two.
The leaves- Leaves start turning, and then dying off normally starting at the tips browning and curling upward (usually)

Once these things start going together you could take a small snip and dry it within a couple of days, and try the smoke.

Thanks, I need to make a better light baffle for my fresh air intake.
