Fluoro tubes vs. CFL box

I've got (4) 40w 4 foot fluoros in a 3x5 grow room lined with mylar. But, I also have a rubbermaid growbox setup with (6) 26w 6500k and (2) 42w 2700k. The growbox is a mere 3x1.5x2 and it is lined with mylar, so it contains more concentrated light (According to my light meter)

Which should I use for veg? I keep hearing different things. I was told fluoro tubes were the BEST and that I should just flower under an HPS or under a lot of 2700k cfl if I can't get an hps...

What do you think I should do? If pics are NEEDED to determine this, I'll get them.

Thanks everyone, you've all been awesome help.

The reason I want to transfer to the 40w fluoro tube room is because it's a lot easier to handle plants and it is cooler than a small box.

You're using the wrong kind of fluoro tube but it will still work. I'm using T5HO.

Save the larger space for the flowering. Use the smaller box for vegging since it has more concentrated light. Also add more light to the larger room, you're going to need it.

Awesome thank you for your help :) I couldn't decide and it was affecting my plants environment. For the flowering room, How can I utilize 2700k cfls? I can't afford an HPS at the moment, but I've got many 42w 2700k's... This is the problem I'll run into in the future.

I would suggest hanging them individually from the ceiling with some way of adjusting their height, leave them hanging vertically, that's the best orientation for CFL, and leave them in the middle and around your plants to it's even lighting around your plants.
