Flushing dilemma

hi guys im a new member here and just thought i say wasuupp ppl... i use other forums but find they never reply or just dont know the answers i need hope u guys can help.....

now to my problem:-

its time to harvest for me soon and i need to flush, problem is i use my bath tub and the plumbing is messed up, i cant seem to get the right temp for the water, its either reall hot or real cold.. what i am doing is filling up a large bin approx 70litres to get to room temp then i use this for watering feeding etc, but its gona take forever to flush this way and im not feeling it...

i flushed one plant today as i am lazy and had no choice after a good 15min shower head flush i felt the soil and it felt like an ice center in there.

question i would like to know is would cold water, borderline ice cold affect the plant ?

just thought i would ask b4 doing all my plants this way, i can do the bin method but that would take forever and wont be able to flush all my plants the same day so suggestion are welcome.. i would get a plumber in but im not sure its wise at this moment in time once i finish this crop i will sort this out for the next time..

this is by far my best ever crop so far and not sure if this will shock the root system in the last week prior to harvest and dont want to risk it...

so any advice is more than appreciated...

filling your bin with alternating too cold and too hot should get you in room temperature range would it not ?

You can shock your roots with water that is too cold or too hot. You really shouldn't be using hot water, because of the sediment that gets built up in the tank. How about filling tub all the way, and just flush into toilet?

thats what im doing atm and its taking far to long, its one thing to sit there like a fool turning the tap from hot to cold till the bin fills up then using a crusty bottle to pour the water in one pot at a time, and another thing to sit there with a shower head and flush 4-5 plants simultaneously.. i have 15 to do

nxt i expect some1 to say get a plumber in, seriously now ths is why i joined this forum to get answers not questions to my questions...

cheers serapis for the idea its original but im not sure i want to go there lol, firstly i would like to say thanks for the speddy responses on the other forum my post got no reply for 24hours, and the moderator just now told me it shouldent harm them at this late stage but obviously i would like more than one oppinion...

yet again thanks for the replys, i already flushed one with ice cold water last night and seems to be ok maybe its to early time will tell

It seems like I've been reading a lot about flushing lately. This "flushing" business is all new to me, just another thing to add to my growing schedule. It seems that everyone does it for a reason and maybe I need to do it as well when the time comes.

When the time comes for me to flush my plant I will place a rack over the freshly cleaned toilet bowl (it will be as clean as a toilet can be, considering what it is used for), put my plant on it and pour the water into the pot letting it drain in the toilet, brillant! This way I won't have to worry about a gritty bath tub and soil getting into the small drain pipes, possibly building up over time. This adds another dimension to flushing:lol::leaf::leaf::leaf:

yes i must admit its a great idea i might try it out in the future, i kinda like to flush more than 1 pot at a time tho so its the bath tub for me atm...

man im a new grower, i have only done 4 crops so far and wouldent even think about smoking my gear without a flush its far to harsh and dont always burn right so if you dont flush your a madman, i would start flushing and se how it works out for you the only problem is its hard work i find at times even 30min of me putting water thro the same pot it still comes out yellowish but no way near as brown/yellow at the first few bottles of water, just need patients and time... im currently flushing 3 right now and getting dazzed by the fumes of the bud lol that love cheese is so stinky....
