Flushing? Does it change anything?

A trash bag, oranges, grapes, water, a couple honeybuns, a bag of jolley ranchers, a sheet, heat, burp the bag as needed, a shirt for straining and a lack of a gag reflex, think that about covers it. Smoking pinners rolled with bible papers helps with the paranoia while waiting.
Those honeybuns must be the secret ingredient, good stuff. Funny, I bought a cig in vegas jail once, was a pinner rolled in the outer wrapper of a toilet paper roll. Had to share with 4 others.

almost forgot the best part. How they light it.

a pencil lead broke into 3 pieces. 1 piece in each of the socket outlets. 1 piece stuck thru a piece of TP. touch all 3 and the tp lights up.

In soil, Totally agree. I wonder about hydro though. I would like to see if there is any difference in hydro flushed vs unflushed. Never been a fan of any hydro grown bud as it ALWAYS tastes like chit.
If run hempys and have noticed no difference in taste or yield by flushing for a week, feeding til chop, and discontinuing nutes after the final swell. They don't eat much at the end

yeah we were referring to soil, we would flush when we grew in hydro

we did side by side comparison with hempy buckets, still noticed no differences between flushing or not

Good stuff dude. Smoking pinners in bible paper....now we're talkin:-)
I used to have max money on my books. I owened the tobaco in my wing. And a lighter(key) at all times. Naturally, i didn't have to keep any of it. When it was smoking time, i called it, got my puffs in, walked away, and the others would get rolled up. Good times man lol

I'm talking about growing with synthetics, every setup. Flushing doesn't do shit.

Lighters are next to impossible to get in around here but tobacco, weed, n pills are a breeze, we have to pop a socket and make a candle with toilet paper, hair greese, and a deodorant tube if we need to keep a flame goin. This is helpful info for the uninformed.lol

In hydro, I'm thinking a 500ppm 1:3:2 NPK ratio would be good for "flushing"

I remember hearing somewhere that you should have a 1:2 P to K ratio during the veg/stretch, 1:1 after stretch, and 2:1 for ripening, but I've never tried it myself, and forget the source.

I have a theory that low potassium toward ripening will allow the product to dry out faster and more evenly. This is not something I've tried yet so I could be full of shit.

I've also heard that low calcium will induce early senescence in flowers, while high calcium will prolong flower life. That's something I've wanted to experiment with.

Another theory is that high P levels inhibit starch synthesis from basic sugars, which is supposed to improve flavor and burn ability and smoothness on the premise that starch tastes like smoking bread.. Also untested, but on my list of things to try.

I really doubt the best approach is to just starve the plant of all nutrients.

But the fit seems so natural. Lighter in the butthole :o
And i suppose this is all very relative to this thread. I've seen people flush like mofo's when releasing the items they keystered. Lol
Good stuff man

I also wonder if the level of S during ripening will affect smell. I know there is a type of onion that is grown in S deficient soil and doesn't make you cry. Maybe S in weed will make you cry?

I did not flush. I dont see how it affects flavor, to me the plant uses the nutrients and I cant see how the flavor affected. I think its an old wives tale and folk lore TBH.

What do I know, I just finished my first garden and may flush my second grow to compare. Using the flush logic wouldn't our veggies and fruits taste like nutrients and fertilizers then also? Sorry, I just do not accept it

My .02 cents

I doubt you'd think mine tastes that way.

I've grown full hydro, and DTW hydro, coco etc.

I don't flush as most of you here very well know.

I taper down the nutrient feed strength though after around week6 of flowering.

I look for just a little fade at harvest time.

I've used an S based forcing solution before. 0-6-5.

It impacted on both taste and smell and actually induced early senescence to finish a crop before pests and bananas took a strong hold.
