Flushing Question

need help...haven't got any help in the Harvesting/Curing section. I have a plant in a 25 gal smartpot with supersoil and have been fertilizing with bloom guano and 1/2 strength ripenner the last two weeks.

Now i'm in week 8 ( :) ) and have been flushing for 6 days so far using about 15 - 20 gallons of water with florakleen every 2 days. Will this be sufficient if I continue this for the rest of this week? Or is this too much?

I remember reading somewhere that flushing will require about 7x the amount of the number of gallons of the the pot...so if i have a 25 gallon pot, it will take 175 gallons to flush (???)

whats your opinion veteran growers?

thanks!

i just stop feeding around 10 days before i plan to pull them...using products to flush is a waste of money...
that seems like a lot of water to use as well...
i think you're trying too hard...

so watering with just plain RO water will do the same thing you think? What about removing excess minerals + nutes from the flower itself? does it just move downward and out of the plant?

I just want to be sure my herb doesn't burn black and taste light crap...I'll cut back a bit.

do you let your plant dry completely out before you cut'er down?

there is a lot of "hearsay" on flushing...
i have done both and i can't tell...
i do it cuz i like to save nutes and work
taste is about strain, dry and cure...not flushing imo...
i use well water...don't know about RO water outside..waste of time
i don't water for 3-4 days before chopping...
