Flushing soon.. Questions about AN's FINAL PHASE.

I have 7 of these and they all look about the same.. Here's pictures of the main colas I was told to flush them 7 days from now.. Good idea? (This is my first grow) They are in hydroton in 3 gallons and 5 gallons.

I have Final Phase from Advanced Nutrients. How do you use this stuff? Do I use it with Bud Candy or Molasses? How long should I do it for and how many times a day? Does the water have to be PH`d?

First question...do you have a 30x microscope because just by looking at the pistils those don't look anywhere near ready. Granted, looking at pistils is not the best way to judge but it gives you a clue at least.

Second, I use Humboldt Royal Flush and basically you don't mix any other nutes with it. You should have been using the Bud Candy all during flowering. I am using Humboldt Ginormous and Honey Hydro Carbs (similar to Bud Candy - just increases the brix levels). During the last two weeks you just flush with water mixed with the flushing solution.

With the AN Final Phase you use 2ml per liter so 7.58ml per gallon. Just use during the last week or two until it runs out the bottom of your container. Good luck bro.

Yes I have a 60x-100x microscope. I asked FFD2BLK if they were ready for flush and he said give it a week. What am I looking for in the trichomes before flushing? The picutres are flowering day number 36.

Oh HELL no! They need another week of a good, aggressive flowering formula before you start the flush.

One more week!

One more week!

Good that you have a microscope. That's key to judging best harvest time. People have different ideas on when to harvest so I'm not calling anyone out - just giving you my opinion. Flowering day 36 means just over 5 weeks. Most flowers are ready anywhere from 6-10 weeks after you switch the lights to 12-12. You can harvest early for a cerebral "heady" high, or later for more of a full-body high.

Generally speaking the trichomes go through 3 phases: clear, translucent or milky white, and finally amber. For peak ripeness, harvest when when at least half of the trichomes are a milky white color. For more of a "couchlock" stone, harvest when the majority of trichomes have turned an amber color.

It really is an experimental process when you are first starting out. At least some of your pistils are starting to change color which is good because now you know you are approaching the time to start watching closely. Peak harvest window is open for about a week or so. Seeing as how you are at week 5 of flowering, I'd say you have anywhere from 2-5 weeks left. I'd probably wait till more pistils started changing color and then start flushing. You should probably flush for at least a week, maybe two, if growing in soil.

Again, I'm no expert but I use Jorge Cervantes' Marijuana Growers Bible as a guide. No one knows more than him! Your plants look really good so I'm sure they'll be fine so long as you dry and cure them properly. Hope this helps a little.

I have that book too. Its fantastic. I understanding the trichomes and such. Just really confused about the flushing. Do i flush when they turn milky?

Cool that you have that book. It really is the only one you need. Like I said, you need to flush for at least a week so I'd say start flushing when about 30 percent of the trichomes are milky white. That way if you are flushing for say 5-7 days then you should be fine because after a week probably 50-60 percent of the triches should be milky white. It's not like you are going to hurt anything...it's just a bit of fine tuning.

You basically start flushing when the bracts, the fleshy growth between the pistils, start to develop.

When your nugs begin to look like nugs, which you will certainly see in a week or so.

Well, it seems a bit early but if they're ready, they're ready! With all those nutes you've been using though make sure you at least do one flush or you're going to taste nasty chemicals!

This is funny. When the Spouse & I decided to grow our own for the first time this year, a lot of it had to do with the fact that we got his DVD. My best friend's dad died and he had it in the house, so she passed it on to me. Spoooooooky, lol

The best way to find out how to use AN products is to call or email their technical support. I did a while back, and they informed me that final phase should be mixed with pure water at 2 ml per liter, and water as usual (you should have 10% runoff). Let that sit for 2-12 hours, and then flush with pure water. Flush with at least 3 times the volume of your containers, so a 5 gallon pot should get at least 15 gallons for the final flush.

The instructions on the AN bottles are often incomplete, and I haven't seen anyone post the correct way to use final phase on riu so far.

The way you use final flush is you mix 2ml per litre. Leave it out for 2 hours or so, check the ph and make sure it's 6.3 (6-6.5 is ok), if your using soil or soilless mix. 5.5-6.0 for hydro. If its not use ph up or down accordingly. Once that is done, apply to the plants and leave in for 6-12 hours then flush out with ph balanced water, until you the run off is clear. That is how you use Advanced Nutrients Final Flush. I've been using a lot of AN's products and call them all the time about a variety of there products and Final Flush is one of the products i've called about so that is where my info has come from. Straight from the horses mouth...hahhahahhaha....;) Good Luck.
