image.jpg image.jpg I've been debating over 12 and 13 week flower, I see some say the 13th week is for ripening and I see other places that buds could begin deteriorating. So I am flushing them today for several days and giving them 3 days in the dark before I harvest them on April 3rd.

I'm using flawless finish, looks like the plants are sucking up the Mg and S and the pH is flying. I think that's all I needed during flower to stop my leaf issues.

I have three plants. I believe that the roots are the biggest goal for a grower after doing DWC. The bigger the roots the bigger the buds. All three plants have had different root issues on and off in the beginning and I fixed it with hydrogen peroxide and then using hydro guard the last few weeks.

The plants looks coated with suger top to bottom. I will get some pictures the last few days they're in the dark.

It takes 14 days for your shit to hit the sewer after flushing???
Flawless wallet finisher!!!! LMAO!!!

Flushing is a myth!
Flushing agents only flush money from your WALLET!

Now there is a perfect example of why you don't "defoliate" for mediocre buds = Your pics of the plant...

When to harvest? Your looking at it the wrong way...No flush and more time with feed during the bulking phase.

THEN - LOOK at THESE pics!

Dr. Who? You should be a rich man with a much as you know! You've trolled me since I started posting here. You were right about defoliation but this was my first grow that started out under a ladder in a swampy bucket. Thank for the advise but I don't agree. I've been through to many other people's grows to know you need to flush for two weeks. The flawless finish is something I decided to test out, I read it's just sugar and some Mg and S. What's your beef with me? I see a lot shittier plants than mine but your troll me hard man. I see your pictures, big deal! Your an average grower that has nothing on the guys that used to grow for me. Leave me alone.

Whoa there tiger. No need to get pissy because some one is trying to teach you something. Flushing is a myth, simple as that. You are being a typical newbie, but hopefully you'll come around.

You already went against what you were told about defoliating and now you're gonna go against not flushing:wall: Defoliating + flushing = total newb

Trichs still look pretty clear, hard to tell under the street light.
Agreed... Take a pic in normal light if you can, with that close a shot you can see the color of trichs. It doesn't look like pure sativa... I can't imagine it not being done.. Looks good bud, hope all grows well.

The pictures are from three plants. They were all bag seed from old shake that took weeks to sprout. I'm lucky they did as well as they did. No hate to Dr. Who but I can't agree that flushing isn't required I've seen the difference in past investments. I'm doing it legally for my self now. Not for investing for profit like in the past. I'm far from a master grower but flushing being a myth is right up their with people using bleach and pool shock and telling me if it doesn't get in people's lungs.

While i totally disagree with flushing a healthy plant, those flowers should have gone longer and im talking 2-3 weeks but i didn't want to come off as an ass so i said up to you. I already knew it would take longer after seeing all the missing fan leaves. No biggie, just let her finish up.

.....This is a perfect example of why some of the best and most experienced growers that are on this site give up trying to help people and they end up in places like Toke and Talk and just talk about other mostly irrelevant shit instead. Theres little interest in arguing with noobs who are so sure they are right

Flush it's just a really debated topic. It's like politics I don't want to get on people personal preferences.

I'm really just trying to get these bag seed finished up so I can grow some seeds I ordered in a nice environment from day one.

I defiantly hurt my yield with way more things than cutting off fan leaves. The hot water. All sorts of things.

Man... not to pour gasoline on a fire, but when I think of how much more bud mass you could be packing onto those plants over the next 2 or 3 weeks (which is how far out they really are) instead of starving them to death for 2 weeks so they're basically dying as they stagger to the finish line... well, it's your grow, but you're giving up a lot of yield. I'm just finishing up a run right now, and added easily 35% (or more) in bud mass to some of my plants over the last 2 weeks. If I'd spent that time flushing 'em instead, well.... it would have turned into a pretty mediocre yield, instead of the really good one that I'm expecting.

But, what you're doing makes you happy, so that's all that counts. Not to get into a dick-measuring contest, but those top buds wouldn't even be decent side buds on the ones that I'm still feeding right up until the day I cut them. The calyxes haven't even begun to swell in yet. I'm not criticizing you; I'm just saying, you could definitely get a better outcome if you did things a little differently.

Oh, and this...

I've been debating over 12 and 13 week flower, I see some say the 13th week is for ripening and I see other places that buds could begin deteriorating.
First off, who are these "some" and "other places" that you're getting your advice from? And why do you value their advice more than the advice you're getting here?

And second, what do those general pieces of advice have to do with your specific plants? Did these "other places" see your plants? No? Then how could they know what week your plants should come down? Finishing times can range very widely from one strain to another, and even from one phenotype to another. I'm doing a grow from seed right now, and I cut one plant last week, another today, will cut a couple more sometime before the end of the week, and most of the rest sometime next week. That's a variance of around 2.5 to 3 weeks, because I'm not going by what I read on "some place" - I'm going by what my plants actually look like.

You really need to learn how to read your own plants, rather than some stranger's website. It doesn't matter what some dumb stoner wrote on some blog if your trichomes are still clear, and your buds are still sprouting white pistils and haven't even filled out yet. Some grow sites do offer a lot of valuable advice, but it doesn't do you any good unless you know how that advice specifically applies to your own plants. Buds don't necessarily "begin deteriorating" at 13 weeks - at 13 weeks some of them aren't even close to done yet, and some of them are already a month past optimum harvest time. The trick to growing is knowing how to tell which is which by looking at them. That's the sort of thing people here seem to be trying to tell you, but it seems to be making you angry. I think you're getting angry at the wrong website.

Best wishes to you, though. Hope it smokes up nice!

Hey, no offense taken dude. Cob is right about getting frustrated and simply not answering questions. I have my ups and downs on that.....Right now I need this place for stress relief - ya'all know what I'm bespeak'in...

I could have aproched my answer better too!

How about you read that post by RM3 on the truth about flushing? He put it so well, I simply link folks to it! (saves my typing time)...
https://www.rollitup.org/t/the-truth-about-flushing.409622/

Side by side tasting is next to impossible to do and get ANY accurate result! You see, some years ago. Ad agencies/food and beverage industry went to colleges and asked for research on how to best do side by side testing for taste (etc.) differences.
Colleges came back and said that when you give the brain a task. It WILL find a difference, even if one does NOT exist!

EXAMPLE:
Recently on TV there has been a show called Brain Games. In an episode for the series. They took 3 people and gave them 3 things to taste and compare. They all reported back with differing preferences for each of the 3 things they tested...Like I said, they each found different results. Guess what? The 3 things they tested ....... Were the exact SAME thing!

It's all in the dry and cure! I cure for 6-8 weeks! It takes patience, I know. BUT, the result will blow you away and you will never go back..
A 1 week dry and a week or 2 of "burping" jars is not a real effective dry and cure! The taste is harsh.....Burn is simply having the right RH at the end....Look at bovita packs as they help the cure by holding the right RH SO the product CAN cure PROPERLY!
(wish we had those years and years ago)....

Now then, don't be "offended"! Get educated! READ the links I gave you and KNOW the truth!
