flushing

I started to flush 2 weeks ago today. It looks like it may be a week or 2 more. Everything looks OK but I don't know what to do. I can't start nutes again. Any help?

Why did you flush so erly? And are you soil? If you got 2 weeks more to go. I would give them something. Then start flushing

Yeah, too late to add nutes again. Harvest. That's the only option you left for yourself. The longer you keep 'em on water, the more they'll lose potency.

I'm growing in hydroton the clay balls. This is my fisrt grow I had some ready in 52 days and others that are going to take 60 or 70 days. I just didn't think and my system is a ebb and flow so I can't flush one without flushing tham all. They are very crystaly now. O well live and learn thanks guys.

I'd chop the more ready ones and give the others a mild feed to tide them over until they are ready to chop. I wouldn't worry too much I've flushed for 4 weeks, I've even not flushed and still ended up with premium buddage!

Oh and they aren't loosing potency on just water, a few comments above is a bit inaccurate (no offends to the poster but the trichs still develop without food, the buds just won't fatten up as much) you'll only loose a little bit of weight as they'll be bulking up and not have the nutrients to support them into the monster buds we all love :) but at the end of the day this plant is just a weed and will survive worst case scenario if they go bad, you chop a few days early, nottoo much of a big deal IMO.

Stay Frosty!

You lose weight and potency. If the plant has to feed on itself for any extended period of time, the plant loses strength overall. He took away all their nutrient at the time when the buds develop their full potency.

Grow #4? I've lost count.

OP:
Go ahead and listen to this guy and reintroduce nutrient into your res after two weeks of flushing.

I do a 4 day flush and it's fine in a ebb and flow system. So yes I would give them some food help fatten them up. And flush the last week.

He flushed for two full weeks already. A four day interruption might be okay, but I'm not sure about two weeks.

He can go ahead and give them nutes again, but it won't have the desired effect.

I agree. But all I'm going by is what I have done. If I didn't give my girls any food for close to half of there flowering. That would be me working at half my pace. And the plant would/could only give half back.

Even when I grow 5-6 footers I will flush for 1-2 weeks cut the top larger buds. Give 1 week of food back as lower buds get more light and grow bigger. After 1 week of food I flush agin for 1 week and harvest. No ill effects. And still get nice white ash and a clean smooth smoke.

Interesting. I don't flush at all. Instead I draw down my PPMs in the last two weeks.

Sounds like you've got it figured out, but I've seen other situations where the flush and re-introduction of nutes didn't work, and the plant came out funky.

Too many variables in this game to say one method or another will work or fail in every situation, but I do know that it's generally not a good idea to flush for several days or weeks and then reintroduce nutes.

Thank you LordJim thats what I wanted to hear. I will add nutes back and cut them off again. I was going to cut water off and see if that would push them in my favor but put nutes back sounds much better. I have only been here one day and I like this place.

You can start nutes again, i flush for 2 weeks strait water and see no loss in yield or potency!

Rule of thumb for learning a strain is wait till you see a few milky trichs and then start flush!

I screwed up thank you warloc not lordjim. I have been smoking for over 40 years this is the first time growing and I don't know shit about growing and I have pushed things to fast. I will be glad when this first one is over. I know what I did right and what I have done wrong. Thanks to all of you for your help. I'm going to feed the girls this morning. I need to have some one I know show me how to put my pics on here so I can show you how they do.

How would you lose potency? The trichs still develop with the normal life cycle of the plant, they'll still go cloudy/amber etc, you might not have as many trichs I suppose but the OP i think said they are super frosty or something similar, and I'd say trichs are the best if not only sign of potency :)

I'm on 5 or 6 at the moment, don't know for sure, I think I forgot a few from a while back :)

Keep it at a light feed, maybe 1/2 or a max of 3/4 strength, it might shock them a bit if you mix it too strong.

That's how you learn the best, learn by doing, I love jumping in the deep end good for the challenge!

Oh and to post pics you just click 'go advanced' next to the 'post quick reply' button, scroll down to manage attachments, it'll open a browser type deal and you just find them on your computer/camera/whatever and just click insert inline once they've uploaded.

Thank you. Up front is Endless sky and in the back is Ace of Spades. This is 55 days in flower. I have a cap ebb and flow hydro system and I run 2 600 lights. I hope that this isn't just first time luck. I hope I can do this again.

Don't worry :) if you 'messed up' this time and know where to fix it, you'll only improve next grow... A good rule of thumb I'd say would be to try to keep 1 strain per flood table because of the exact reason you've just had problems with :)

Good luck and stay frosty!

Hay I'm back my girls liked the nutes and plumped up nicely. The trichomes are cloudy now back to flushing. Ya I think one strain at a time or some that are at least a like in flowering time. The Ace of Spades is a big producer I hope it's a good smoke. I'll put up some pics when it's dry. Thanks for the help.
