Ok an i have been.. just new to using ro water thats all. So no flushing at all just water and feed as normal.. very insightful info to doc and thanks

When you hit the given ratio's that they tell you-----feed every other day or you'll be doing my "water it out" instructions fast!

By the way, your IN coco......a little flush every few weeks IS a good idea.....Coco builds up salts.....way more then soil! Soil does not need a salt flush.....
Your pH should be twixt 5.8 - 6.2 for all ingoing fluids.....I would do 5.8 as it should rise from there.

I barely use a qaurter of what they say cause i learned my error from using their nutesIf you have to flush something went wrong. People don't get thatdon't over feed and you won't need to flush.
New comers are always so hell bent on flushing because they love their plants soooooo much more than we do that they give them extra AN ferts to get them big and strong

AND? if you're using r/o, you need to supplement it to keep all things Green and healthy. Don't overfeed and just taper off the last week. As far as using cal/mag the last week or 2, probably not necessary.

well that is what I mean.flushing makes no sense,except u want your plants to lose time where there are nutritioned(usually 10 to 14 days right?).therefore there is another way using that knowledge and dry the plants out with a special ec range.
maybe you shoud read some William Texier.
no disrespect,just sayin that u can find ALL the info u need in the books. but u need to read thooroughly and sometimes combine. and not only concentrate on cannabis books.
btw: not mentioning Clarke when it comes to books...i can only shake my head

Those were not all cannabis books either.....Management of ppms/EC at finish (just like the rest of the run) should be part of your routine, hydroponically speaking of course. There are NO provisions in quality books or texts on hydroponics for a "complete nutrient free" or a "stripping" chemical "flush".
Not to mention soil !!!
Dry and curing is critical to real success!

and yes "Hydro for everybody " by Texier
(and even though i do NOT "flush") Soma says: " I only feed the plants through the seventh week, then for the last 3 weeks I water them just enough to FLUSH THE FERTILIZER FROM THE SOIL, which leaves the plants tasting clean." [from:Organic Marijuana Soma Style by Soma]
(again,I DO NOT FLUSH either) but when i unterstand u correctly this Soma book is not a quality book??

His growing is great. His book is great (read it but don't have that one in my library) I visited him this winter, but speaking from the actual science of what he suggests...Your not flushing fertilizer from the soil....That is the myth.....While the plant is depleting the nutrients available in the soil - to a point - you are not reducing them in the plant enough to make any type of "flavor" difference other then reducing it (in hydro)! The words he uses do not describe what actually happens......Soma is a self taught old school grower/breeder, who began in Cali years before he moved overseas. He holds on to old world hippie (more like Rasta for him) logic on this topic....The same for Jorge Cervantes.....great grower....huge knowledge on lighting! I point people to his books on growing. Not so good on the flush opinion vs actual plant science!
Bottom line....Soma and Jorge write wonderful books! Their simply misguided...ok, wrong, on this subject....Ok?
Another way to look at flushing is to understand that this last 2 weeks of growth - the bulking phase - is simply put. The absolute worst time to stop feeding. The buds are putting on their final weight or, filling their potential.....If you remove nutrition now, you reduce yield....That sure doesn't improve flavor.....I fell for this logic for a time.....I did a lot of testing on,,,wait, I have a post bookmarked that will share someone else's observations by testing to save my typing fingers and my time...
