if you have to use foil use the dull side, the shiny side makes hot spots that will burn your plants unless its perfectly flat without any rinkles

Foil is bad uneven reflection and hot spots. The light isnt reflected very good at all. If you are set on using it dull side out. Flat white paint is better or go to the dolaar store.Gift warp section look for shiney colored wrapping paper called poly wrap $1 a roll the outside might be shiney color but flip it over its regular silver mylar. 3feeet by 15 feet of mylar for $1.I had posted pictures of it while back youd have to search my posts for the pictures. Its called dollar mylar

Why do you think arabs wher white clothes? White paint is a good choice, choose a high gloss finish. Foil is a cooking material designed to trap and reflect heat. It is shiny thats all not light reflective. just because you can see reflected images in it doesnt mean it reflects light rays, it DOESNT work!!
