Foliar Feeding.

Hey peeps,
What are the advantages/disadvantages of foliar feeding? Won't the lights burn the plants (because of magnification) when you mist them?

NO the water will not act as magnifying glass, old school bullsh*t. Rains on plants all the time in nature and the sun is far brighter than any light. Folar feeding helps but is it worth the effort is the real question?

I don't foliar feed anymore unless trying to overcome some problems of some kind. I think the ferts drying on the leaves block some of the breathing and light receiving properties. Just spay some fert solution on a white board or glass and let it dry, you'll see a nice dark film. Also you can lead to powdery mold problems if done too much. Plants like to transpire that's how they work. so let them feed the way the want and leave the foliar feeding to when their roots are in trouble and you need to make them happy til you fix the cause of root problems.

I do it once a week and seem to get noticeable differences. Definitely do it in moderation though.

I've been using the seltzer water spray since last year and I have had no visible/apparent damage to my plants and they seem to thrive. But I honestly couldn't tell you if there is scientific evidence to speak of on the subject.

That said, I am going to start biweekly foliar feeding with 1/8 the normal dose of Big Bloom from AN and see how the girls do!

If you want to foliar feed using an AN product try B-52 @ 1/4 strength. Was recommend by one of their reps and worked really well. Once a week at most.
