Foothill Carbon Filters Anyone?

I just bought a carbon filter/fan combo unit on ebay for $120. It is 6 x 14 with a 130 cfm fan built into a case with the filter itself. I didn't want to cut holes in my walls for fans and stuff, so I thought that this might work for my small personal grow. It will have to be better than nothing. I grew a Pineapple Chunk that stunk up my whole house last time and even outside my house. I don't want to have to go through that ever again if I can avoid it.

Here is the link to the filter I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-X-14-ACTI...335?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5184b0b997

Let me know if anyone has had any experiences with these stand alone units. Although I don't guess that it really matters now, since I have already bought it.

The Carbo Filter should be in the grow room itself, it will flush the air of smell and then your exaust will take it out as oderless air...kee it in the room and you'll be good to go. if your real stressed about it you can get an ozone generator and put it at your air out(exaust) spot to kill any smell left.

That's good. I just hope it can get rid of that skunky smell. If it does that then I will be one satisfied customer who will recomend this product to people but until I have tried it out I can't tell anyone to buy it in good faith. I'm not into spreading false information.

So was it any good?

I know this thread is old but I'm sure folks like me are still looking for reviews of these small filters. I have a small stealth box that's 26" x 26" x 36" and this 6x14" filter at 130cfm from Foothills does that job like a champ. It was a bit expensive compared to the same price for an inline fan with large filter but this is a specialty product in my mind that nobody else makes so I'm good with it. It's perfect for smaller grows and smaller stealth boxes where normal sized filters would be much too big. I would call it too big for a stealth computer box grow though for those interested. Some folks have wondered about the airflow coming from the fan. Its moving at an acceptable speed and doesn't sound like its being overworked. The fan itself inside the housing is a 4.5" diameter fan and seems to have no trouble moving air through the carbon. It will hold a piece of paper onto the filter which shows that air is moving enough to suck it right onto the filter. I'll update this review in a few months as it will be running non-stop from now until the next 3-4 months.

If your debating on one of these don't, they are well worth it and the service from the owners is amazing. They got mine packed on a weekend after ordering on a Friday late at like 11pm and I got it Monday. Just amazing.. Ok, before I start to sound like I work for the company, lol.....
