No trolling, I would really like to try your Ss OG , coz Mine never turned out anything special..
I know I'm mids grower. But hey it's waay better than anything in the street.. From xy mephisto strains that I grew, only SS OG, 24 carat, sour crack and 4 assed monkey turned out ok, and I grew them again. This 4AM is stiinkeer it kills my carbon filter

Pretty much strain dependent. I know some ours are ooey-gooey resinous girls when trimming or seed preening.
Exactly. Ive got some Mephisto 3 bears OG thats been in the jar for 6 months and its still so sticky you can touch a bud and it sticks to your fingers like pine sap. Ripley's OG same as well as a Fast Buds GSC auto. Autos are getting better and better. Sure, photos are better when you want more control over plant size and being able to clone etc. But, if somebody thinks that Autos are weak, they havent grown a quality bred cultivar lately. I can pull a harvest every 70-80 days and though smaller, theyre as if not more potent than ANY photo ive grown or smoked. Also, folks that think THC content is the sole decider of potency are naive. Ive smoked dispo weed tested at 30% that had less taste and buzz than my Mephistos.

Look for Mephisto Double Grape, White Crack or Walter White. They get covered in frost.
The new Grape Crush limiteds they sent out for the black friday sale this year turned white by 35 days. Grape crinkle x Sundae Thumper. Even the fans are white. When somebody says autos dont make many trichs i belly laugh. I havent had 1 Meph strain that wasnt covered in frost.

I've seen several autos lately and grew my own Wedding Cake auto. They seem to have a common trait, dryness. I didn't see a lot of trichomes on my plant and the other plants I saw looked dry as well. Don't get me wrong, this didn't appear to affect the quality but I can't use it to make dabs but it smokes clean and is perfect for cooking. So long story short. Do autos generally have less trichome production?View attachment 4498074
Only ones ive had that were subpar were ILGM's and they were my first ones. Most of their plants were frosty, they just smelled bland but that aint limited to their autos. Breeder is more important

The texture of the trichomes is a a bit genetic but also climate related it's not just a auto thing some are more a greasy type resin some are more a drier type

You're responding to someone who hasn't been online for over 3 years, on a thread that has been dead for just as long.
Apparantly it aint dead..lol. I understand.... but I know there are others like me that still read the thread and felt the added info was relevant. Autos are even better now than then.

Its more of a forum etiquette thing. Im glad what youre doing is working for you, maybe make a thread about your auto journey?

I dont like them because I like the idea of keeping a mother plant, and the influx of people relatively new to growing having issues with clearly cash grab white label seeds. Ive seen some crazy autos elsewhere on the forum.

Youre right about the white label BS autos( and photos too) that companies like ILGM,MSNL Growers Choice and Crop King to name a few are ripping noobs off with. I also believe that autos are not for beginners like these companies love to promote. I like them because i can keep a perpetual grow going in my ( very) small space and not have to change up light cycle. If i had enough room for 2 tents id grow photos too simply for the greater yield potential and because of being able to find a great pheno to use as a mother. Alas, I dont have the space so I do what i can. There are starting to be more good auto breeders but there are so many bad ones. The good ones like Mephisto and Night Owl are really producing some great genetics now. For what im trying to do right now it works great for me. Hey, have a good one!
