$70 dolla for a used ballast, almost guarantee its gonna need a new cap or ignitor within a month or two.
You can get very cheap ballast kits at 1000bulbs.com they are brand new and have a 1 yr warranty. I got a 400 mh for $50 including shipping. You have to build yourself of course though.
But something as vital and expensive as ur light, I recommend getting it at a local grow shop, if you have one.
I've gone thru 2 ballasts, 2 caps, and 2 bulbs in under a year. Why? Bought ballast and bulb online and ballast stopped working 2 days later and a few months after that I found out the bulb I got was old.
Bought a new ballast and bulb from local store with warranty. bout 5 months later cap went out, they replaced for free and immediately.
Now even if the place you buy online honors their warranty YOU have to pay to ship it back and you have to wait while your plants die.
and with the cost of shipping a ballast buying it online usually is the same price as getting it at the local store. My 1000w hps, with 3yr warranty was $150, I bought a big square vented hood used for $60 and Hortilux bulb for $80, 1 yr warranty.
