i have a nice pair of dogs. one a girl pom. and a loving rotti. he does get protectivce, when im not home. good job!! and loveing to all, when i am home. i dont beleive a dog should be kept in a pen, or on a rope or chain, except to walk em. however, i dont agree, with those who disagree, but lower themselves, by using foul or insulting language. liberals are famous for this. and they invented "tollerance"! so. disagreein is fine. but not throw insults. so i guess i have my guard dogs. one is yip! the other woof!. im not doing anything wrong. but is the THIEF dong wrong, by entering private property? i would think so. a month ago, i got me a nice ar-15. sweet. so when im home, its this. when im not, its the dogs. no big deal. of course the aclu hates all property laws. they dont beleive our land is our land, but EVERYBODYS. so if they lift the "boarders", remember, this would include private property. not just country lines....also, true guard dogs, are not mean. that would be an "attack" dog. those have been tortured, in order to hate humans. all humans. euthinize, is the only human thing at this point, for these types of tortured souls. much as our own "animals" in the human kingdom.

She does have a great personality! She is honestly the best dog I could have asked for, and an equal part of my family. Shit, I wouldn't sell her for even $1million.
Her ears do always stick up like that, however it is not because we had them clipped.
A friend and myself rescued her and her sister (picture 3, mine is the one with the collar) from a mexican family who was starving the litter; to their defense though, they could barely feed themselves. My girl was the runt of the litter and extremely malnourished and abused emotionally and mentally when we first obtained her. I attribute the fact that she was always on pins and needles as a puppy for the reason why she keeps her ears up. She does put them down every once in awhile, but mainly when she is greeting or playing with us. Other than that, theyre up; she even sleeps with them up.
I picked her up at 45lbs and 6months old. She is now 80+lbs and 3 years old.
She knows each of her commands in German, English and silent hand signals, as well as is able to differentiate from about 100 objects. (We can tell her to grab the purple football, not the blue one, and she will bring back the purple ball).
Lastly, she is very well trained in the art of schutzhund, and will tear up anyone who makes the mistake of attempting to gain access to our property, or harm one of us.

My dog also came from a home where he was malnourished and got not a bit of attention except for being hit or screamed at. He was 2 and weighed just under 60 lbs and now is a healthy 110. He isnt fat, just not shredded. He still has a small waist. He was 115 when we would go for long runs every day and he was eating more. He is 5 now. I am starting to run him (and myself) again. I have disabilities that limit me at times. We get in and out of shape together. I lost 20 lbs muscle and he lost 5-7 Id say. He is Blue nose and Amer Bully.
His old owners bought him as a fighting dog, but he is gentle and doesnt like to fight with other dogs. They thought he was a waste and hated and abused him.
I saw him and saw great potential. He is now a big part of our family. He is great with kids and loves almost all dogs as well.
Everyone warned me that he will turn on us and be terrible, but I cant see that ever happening.
He sorta growls to beg for food and it scares all my friends and family till they get used to him. It is just his eager sound, and non-threatening though.
He defends our yard well, and the same for inside. Nobody can or would dare come inside unless I tell Poncho its ok, then he will smell them and leave.
I do wish he had some formal training though.

Shedding can be controlled somewhat with regular brushing (outdoors) a quality food (not grain based) and supplementation of fish oils or other source of the Omega fatty acids. Bathe only once every 3-4 weeks as too many baths drys out their skin and leads to more shedding as well.
Fleas etc can cause allergies just like generic food and cause itching and excessive shedding.
He's a beauty!! Always wanted one myself... Or the Newfoundland... but I refuse to pick up poop larger then I can carry with one shovel!!
JRT's?? they are loaded with energy.. have a chihuhauhau terrier mix and she has her terrier energy spurts once in awhile.
I personally NEVER liked the dachshund breed... till I met my friends and she is so freaking sweet... reminds me of an otter (she is a mini too)
Thats one of them "shaky" ones tho... lol mine is a tad larger too.. (terrier mix and plain fatter)

He was extremely hyper and dug out of the yard daily.
He took himself for runs at the park and did laps.
He was a major chewer till he was 1.5 yrs old. then he chilled out and got dog-napped shortly after.
I'll find a pic and post it up. His name was Paco.
My dog poncho was sooo sad when he got taken that he didnt eat, and whined and looked around the house in and out for a week.

While I'm not gonna say you should get your dogs high, it most certainly is not a fact that THC will kill them.
LD50 dosages are determined on animals, not humans. The LD50 for THC is somewhere around 1 gram (pure THC) per KG. Your dog probably was panicked and had a bad time, but almost died? No.
