Fox Farm Nutrients in Coco

So i'm going to try coco or a coco mix as a medium on my next grow. Maybe sunshine mix or something similar. I'm open to any suggestions on mediums as well. Does anybody have any experience using Fox Farm nutrients (the full line with boosters and the bushdoctor line) in coco or a coco mix medium? I always got great results in soil and even tried FF in DWC and got great results, so im leaning toward trying it out in coco, plus i have a bunch left over. Any suggestions are appreciated. Happy growing! :leaf:

Hahaha

Sounds good to me, Is the sunshine pure coco?

I would like to know how this is working out so far. Are you still going with the plan?

I just bought a bottle of FF Tiger Bloom and I intend to use it in my 50/50 coco/perlite mix. I noticed on the bottle that there is o calcium in the Tiger Bloom. I'm looking into it right now trying to figure out how much Cal/mag I need to add to keep the plants healthy. One thing you'll need to learn(and I still need to learn this so help me out if you can), is what ratios of potassium calcium and magnesium are needed when growing in Coco. Coco has a tendency to interfere with those nutrients so often people have trouble with deficiencies as a result.

Do the other bottles have Calcium in them? I'm surprized to see no calcium in the TG, yet if I compare the bottle to my Dyna-Gro bottles I see that DG has a very similar chemical make-up to TG, but DG has 2% Calcium! So 0% calcium tells me I definately need to add some calcium into the mix.

Good luck with the coco, btw you'll read that perlite is "not needed" with coco... but my philosophy is "it can't hurt"

I do know that the GROW BIG FF has 2.0 calcium in it.
The bottles of tiger bloom do not state the calcium content on them but i've come to think they probably do have some calcium in them.

If tiger bloom can do well in both soil and hydro then it can definately do well in coco.
The only difference is with coco you will need to be ready for calcium or magnesium deficiencies. With my coco gro using different base nutes I've never seen any calcium deficiency but magnesium seems to always be lacking.

I'm on my second wk of flower after a 7 wk veg on 10 afghan plants with fox farm trio in 100% coco with fantastic results. Tapered up from 1/4 tsp to 1 tsp of CalMag per gal. Plants are healthy vigorous and haven't had any deficiencies from cal or mag. Good luck to you. I say go for it.

In coco you'll want around 3-5% Potassium with around 5-7% calcium and around 2-4% magnesium.

My standard coco nutes run K @3% Ca @5% and Mg @2%.

I have to supplement extra Ca and Mg after around 3 weeks of flowering along with a good PK1314 boost half way through flowering.
