Fox farm soils

The Lady at the Grow shop, said Fox farm soils dont have bugs, LMAO

I know for a fact that happy frog is why i have Gnats... I am useing ROOTS organics now, but everyone that i know that uses store bought dirt uses fox farm.
 
I get the large bags of happy frog for $14.99 - $16.99 depending on local competitors pricing in the flint/clio area, OF is usually a buck or two cheaper. I won't use FFOF anymore because of the gnat problem, I am still fighting the bastards off.
Not too sure on price of the light warrior tho.
 
i use FFoF and it ranges in price per shop.sometimes its on sale for 10$ a bag,but at most places its 16-18 out the door.

one shop i go to lets me slide for 15ea. if im buying other stuff..
 
I pay about $20 for a regular regular sized bag of FFOF. This is retail of course. People are mentioning gnats... funny cause I just killed one.

I'm not too concerned about the supposed root damage they do though because I'm in limited space and I don't see how a few damaged roots will kill a marijuana plant.

not sure what he posted that for, -nothing on that page was over 2.2 lbs, just microbes not soiless base.


i soon will be ditching Pro mix. to then use Sphagnum moss and rice hulls and mix my amendments further. tired of bottled nutes.

and the gnats love the molasses - and get out of control quick.

homemade flytraps, potatoes and honey in a small saucer - trade it out for a new one every couple days. the flies will leave their eggs on the potatoes and die in the honey rather than the plants. -but i had to discontinue the molasses for a while while doing this.
 
rice hulls work good for a perlite substitute. thats a good idea putting the potato in the honey. I always told people to put a piece of potato on the soil to check for larvae.
