ocean forest is spendy stuff, and so are the nutes

1.5 cf bag of ocean forest is around 20-25 bux

1qt of grow big nutes = 15-20 bux
1qt of big bloom = 15-20 bux
1qt of tiger bloom 15-20 bux

thats all u should need.

The ocean forest is great stuff! and remember you don't have to fertilize for at the first month cuz its so packed with good stuff. I use it in combo with dr. hornby's iguana juice for a complete organic experience ;)

...check out Fox Farm's website for a feeding schedule.

From what i've read in this forum and others, most people start at 1//4 strength and work their way up, and don't start feeding their little ones until they are about 3-4 weeks old.

Many people (myself included) add extra perlite to the Fox Farm Ocean Forest. I use 3 parts FFOF and 1 part perlite.

...the biggest mistakes most people make are:

1) overwatering
2) over feeding
3 overwatering and over feeding

good luck!

My plants only around 2 1/2 to 3 weeks old.

...i don't think i would re-transplant just to add perlite so assuming that you'll need to transplant again later you might want to consider adding the perlite at that time.

rocks on the bottom don't generally help and are not recommended (from what i've read from the pros)

all cool thing to do (next transplant) is to drill some bigger holes in the bottom of your buckets (assuming they are plastic) then then fit a nylon screen across the bottom (the kind you use for windows --- just not the old metal style). It's easy to find a roll of nylon screen at Home Depot. With this setup you'll get really good drainage.

Watering: Having the bottom damp and the top dry is basically a good thing. It will encourage the roots to grow in search of moisture. Since you've just transplanted keep an eye on your plant to make sure they don't get droopy...if they do then add alittle water right at the base of the stem.

You might want to consider picking up a moisture probe. They are under $10 at Home Depot...cause you are going to want to let the bottom dry out before giving your plants a through watering.

Basic watering strategy: Let the soil dry out (not to the point that your plants wilt, but just before that point --- you'll learn)...but if they wilt a little it's OK. Then water until you get run off at the bottom.

hope this helps...

It says 1 teaspoon per gallon of water every watering. But i Hear you should use fox frams every other watering. so i would start at 1/4 teaspoons per gallon and move up. incressing in 1/4 teaspoon per gallon every other watering?

Is heavy watering what you would use 4 a hydro system like DWC?
