Fox News “brainwashed” so many dads: “People are being bamboozled on a massive scale”

That's not what happened. If you believe that's what happened, you're naive at best, very very stupid at worst

Why didn't Fox reprimand O'Reilly in any way? Why hasn't he ever apologized about lying about being in the Falkland Islands during the war? And why do you believe Fox News doesn't make shit up considering this is a textbook example of them making shit up?
Ive already said this is a lie by Bill. What more do you want me to say?

You want to cite this as some sort of lack of integrity by FNC. I can't stop you.

I would only say this is something bill said about his time while he was workingfor CBS. It isn't like the FNC news room put together a bio of bill and had this in the report.

This was bill talking about his past experience, before joining them. FNC isn't totally culpable here. Bill is individually.

Why wouldn't FNC throw him under the bus? Perhaps becuase he is their cash cow. This was him talking about his own life ah

I've been digging a little bit more. It looks like O'reilly did indeed report on the war from Brazil for a while, like MotherJones said. But then it looks like he went on to Argentina while the war was going on and winding down. You said he implied he was in the line of live fire, ive not seen him imply that in anything i've found or you supplied.

It also looks like there may be some shred of plausible credibility to his story. At this point I'm not sure. He has archived material from 30 years ago that might support his story.

Not that long of a read if you're interested in reading his side and seeing his evidence.

For arguments sake, lets assume its a lie. BillO totally lied about it.... That isn't FNC lying, that is Bill on live air misremembering the events of his life from 30 years ago when he worked for CBS.

It isn't as if the FNC news chief and the factual review team passed off on a story and decided to run with it.

Why wouldn't FNC discipline Bill? He makes them lots of money, he is rich as fuck, and he is near the end of his career. They're probably begging him to stay.

If Fox isn't culpable for that, then why was NBC culpable for the things Brian Williams said?

I don't remember anyone holding NBC culpable.

I remember people calling for NBC to do something about it. Lets compare. Bill has supporting evidence from his story of what happened 30 years ago. You saw those letters and things I linked to? It isn't as clear cut as I first thought it was after reading your link.

Williams couldn't support his. He said he was in a chopper that was shot down or at or something and made US service men look bad. Bills reporting didn't make US servicemen look bad.

Williams also lied about things in hurricane Katrina, making the local Police look bad.

There was other things too. Seems like once the story broke and people looked into it they kept finding new things all the time that Williams lied about.

So, before we can compare the two as equals, what else has Bill said about his past that is untrue? Has he slandered any US military or US law enforcement in doing so?

Yeah, that'll do

You've done a great job of proving my point for me, thanks

I would like to be the first to rush to this middle ground you've offered and accept your surrender. Valiant effort pada.

You had a tough job, and you did well. But it just wasn't a strong argument you had on your side. Glad you saw the light.

The blind defense of Faux Spews, irrespective of the content of the debate, says everything about their real motive.
Indeed. And attempting to use any kind of logic with the right is usually futile as can be seen in this thread. The more facts posted by the left nearly always results in deflection by the right.

Its obvious you missed the entire point...which seems to be a continuing theme with Fox News supporters. But hey, at least you took the time to be respond respectfully even if you did dodge 99% of the facts posted.

Hence the reason why FOX NEWS is #1 cable show. Old white bigots sit in front of their TV's and believe all the garbage that they put out. It also baffles me how they vote against their best interest, I know white folks here where I live (Poconos) who are poor and eligible for Obamacare but won't get it because they hate Obama. Go figure.

If they are eligible now they were before Obama. I also laugh when people call it an Obama phone. That program has been around since 1984.

I don't listen to/watch Faux news, but what has happened to men over the last 40 years is disgusting. Imagine the hate campaign, launched against men, if it were aimed toward women.

Imagine the marginalization of motherhood; being able to go on air and say, in all seriousness, something horrible about mothers in general and getting applause.

Imagine having femininity being labelled as toxic. Toxic masculinity gets bandied around as though it were as innocuous as the expression "sprinkles for ice cream", but it isn't.

Imagine if, in the last 40 years, girls were having the same problems at school as boys. There are more young women in university than young men, but we still need to get more young women into universities. Has anyone ever seen a program to get boys or young men interested in Nursing? Early Childhood Education? Dance?

No? Is it because boys aren't as interested in that stuff or because people don't want them there? Ah, but if you agree with that, then you add weight to the argument that girls just aren't as interested in the STEM fields as boys.

Feminism was a good thing. but now we should be focusing on equal opportunity for all, and this is where feminism falls flat on its face. Think I'm lying or misinformed? Follow the money: how much cash was put toward helping girls with their studies, then look at the cash put toward boys to help with their studies. How much, if any, cash for boys are from feminist organizations? Has ANYONE heard of a single one?

I honestly don't know where terrorist fist jab came from. It looks crazy in just a screen shot. But I'm willing to bet if you watched it live and paid attention you'd know what it meant. And I doubt they're saying it was the Obama's jabbing fists like terrorists.

Of course that's what's implied by the screen shot.. and that's why I've always said the fox news detractors are more dishonest than fox news.

Look, it's an information war, and objectivity isn't the goal it's scoring points. It's easy to take a screen of something, remove any and all context and have something that looks fishy.

Just like how you can pause live TV of a hot chick doing something and in the middle of her sentence she looks all crazy. Looks perfectly normal while you watch it. But frozen in time looks crazy as hell.

Just know, that to anyone who cares about reality the fox news team has a biased slant but is otherwise fair. While you and your side are perfectly willing to lie to make fox news look bad. Which is more dishonest?[/Q
Youre going to get a lot of likes with a post like that on this forum.

I'm pretty well tuned into the internet. I'm modestly well tuned to the left, better tuned to the right, and fairly well plugged into the mainstream. Today was the first time I'd heard of "terrorist fist jab."

I asked lots of people who keep up with Internet trends. No one had heard of it.

But it's known by a simple refrence by those who make up the left of this forum.

I would imagine most people don't read into this what you do when they look at this. That's why it's so unwell known.

I was expecting an entire segment on how this was some hidden terrorist communication method.

Instead, imagine my suprize when I see it's simply a throw away line at the end of a list of possible names for the fist bump.

It's terribly underwhelming. It's Stupid. It's silly. Perhaps that's why she says it with a chuckle.

But again, if you're telling me that FNC is a bogus news organization and not reputable at all, this is another thing I laugh at and say "is that the best you got?"

It's nothing.

Watching broadcasting you'll see all kinds of dumb shit. These people have someone talking on camera 365-24\7.

Odds are some dumb shit is going to get said.
"I'm fairly well tuned in.." LOL and you hadn't heard of this??? what an idiot

You obviously haven't been on the short end of the stick when it comes to obamacare. Took forever to sign up and then when tax season came around they charged me an extra 2500 because we made too much money... its a fuckin scam but a terribly crafty one.

I honestly don't know why two healthy people need to pay 1,000 in insurance each month when we don't go to the hospital for anything other than checkups...

I did say older folks who refuse to get Obamacare simply because of bigotry but nonetheless financially eligible to get it; there are folks who obviously pay a larger premium based on income.

I myself have helped a couple of folks apply for and get Obamacare and Medicaid. I don't need it myself because I get Union benefits for life and I'm retired from my job and eligible for Medicare.

1 couple I helped get Obamacare pay $103 @ month she makes a little over $18,000 a year 54 years old working 2 jobs Walmart and Wendy's he's 57, unemployed, hurt on the job no workmans comp.
