As I said before, Med ... you give yourself WAY too much credit. You don't "rile" me at all ... you just make me laugh.

I think I might rile you a bit, you're just too stubborn to admit it. You sure were worried about my supposed threats, or at least you made a huge deal out of them. So what if I said I could kick your ass, we'll never meet to see if it's true, who knows, you might tear me a new one. I've had my ass kicked before. Quit being pretentious and just admit it, you were scared shitless!~LOL~ In fact not 5 years ago a 300 lb Indian beat the shit out of me, got in a sucker punch that I was not expecting as I had considered him a friend. When a 300lb guy gets the first punch, it's pretty much over, it took 3 guys to pull him off me, I'm lucky to be alive. If my friends hadn't stepped in he'd of killed me. So gettin my ass kicked is nothing new. I learned one thing from that fight, Don't accuse a drunken Indian (300LB) of beating up your daughter then turn your head, wham lights out! I misjudged him, I had known him for 12 years and never knew him to be that violent, But he had just beat the shit out of my daughter, I should have known better. I'll just say this, My friends told me he was scared all day that I was coming for him and he went and got a bellyfull of whiskey for courage, and waited for me to turn my back! A real coward.

Anyone who watches any network 'news' and believes they are watching anything other than a tv entertainment program is a moron.

MightyBuddha, someone who understands the media?
More like knows how to control the media.... In news circles they call him Tony Snowjob..

You Do not know what you are talking about... My Cousin who just retired as Master Sergeant from the US Air Force and did two tours in Iraq and 2 tours in Afghanistan says that CNN come closer to the truth and will tell you strait up that Fox News Channel puts out 85% Propaganda and 15% truth.
It's not about filling a conservative void, it's about lying to the public.
Now if you believe Rush Limbaugh, then your really wacked, It's not about Drive by Media.... NBC is owned by General Electric (I wonder what interest they would have in the Iraq war? The Make Jet Fighter Engines)
ABC is owned by Disney (Known for their conservative views)
Fox TV channels and Fox News Channel is owned by News Corp. Who's other holdings include: News Corporation, one of the largest media conglomerates in the world, owns The Fox Broadcasting Company, television and cable networks such as Fox, National Geographic and FX, 37 television stations, print publications including The New York Post and TV Guide, book publisher HarperCollins, film production companies 20th Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures and Blue Sky Studios, and the National Rugby League. And The Saudi Royal Family owns 52% of News Corp. (that's a controlling interest my friend)
Also you have a few other minor players in the mix.

Bertelsmann AG, one of the world's largest media companies, owns holdings in Europe and North America, including: book publisher Random House, radio and cable TV owner RTL Group, music publisher Sony BMG Music Entertainment, and print publisher Gruner+Jahr. (who made contributions to conservative candidates in the last two elections.)

CBS Corporation owns the CBS Television Network, UPN, Showtime, book publisher Simon & Schuster, 41 television stations, Infinity (now CBS) Radio, Inc., and theme parks such as Paramount's Kings Dominion.

Viacom Before splitting off CBS Corporation, Viacom was one of the largest media companies in the world. The new Viacom is also large, with holdings including Music Television, Nickelodeon, VH1, BET, Comedy Central, Paramount Pictures, Paramount Home Entertainment and publishing company Famous Music. (also made large contributions to conservative candidates in the last two elections)

My point here is if your going to enter a heated debate, know what you are talking about, I'm here to tell you in a debate I can eat you for lunch.

here is one link to prove my point, ask if you need more links I will be glad to provide them to you.

Dankdude - I wish you hadn't laid into me because I agree with most of what you said. I also happen to know a lot about the subject as I spent part of time in college studing the media in this country. I am also picking up some of that liberal, most americans are too stupid to know the difference, vibe which is over-shadowing some of your points. Did it ever occur to you that there are a percentage of Americans that want to hear the Fox perspective? That they don't care about the propoganda but instead want to hear a warm, cozy and pro-America perspective? Is it our spot to tell them they can not? Personally, I can't stand Fox news (love Simpsons) or Rush or OReily but I do think Americans are smart enough to decide for themselves. You may also have heard about the decline in market share for the major networks, publications and other old-style media outlets. Perhaps this is because the free market we live in really works and people are finding less biased sources?!

Well said ... and very true. The majority of Americans, when given a choice (free market) will take the more conservative road every time. This is pointed out by the Left's panic over Bush's federal judgeship appointments. Liberal legislators could NEVER pass laws representing their true agenda and get reelected ... therefore, they prefer that their legislating comes from the bench from liberal judges. Your point is further bolstered by the continual failure of the Left's attempt to compete in talk radio. They continue to try ... and they continue to fail.

Well said Vi! Say what you want about about conservative radio hosts but there is no denying that a large group of Americans listen and therefore must agree somewhat. Granted most are probably over 45 years old but they are also the ones still tuning into the tv evening 'news'.

Buddha I digress.
I get tired of a lot of people enter debates and never do their homework. The problem is that there is no free market in the Media. Most of the media is owned by just 6 major companies, where just 20 years ago it was owned by 50 differant companies. As the companies get swallowed up the news from these companies turn into less news and more into opinion shows telling you what to think. Remember the passages in George Orwell's book "1984" where it said that would happen. It's a sad fact of life that most are too mindless to think for themselves.

What would you say about anyone (someone) who doesn't realize that everything they see.. is really JUST THEMSELF?

NOTHING MORE or NOTHING LESS?

just a giant mirror... people who don't get this.. what are THEY?

I don't have a clue! you've shot over my head. I believe you are what you think you are and not anyone else, but I also believe you can see things that are not a reflection of you, god only knows there are many people I wouldn't want to be, and I see them daily. It would depress me extremely to think I was looking at me. I realize in the greater perspective, we are all part of the whole, the thing is, the whole is pretty fucked up and I'd like to stay away from that part if possible! Did I make a point here?
