looks like they are swelling up for the finish run. Noticed your other thread. I didn't see any herms either.

can always grab a calyx off and see if there's a seed starting inside.

I think you're good though, good job.

Thank you Cannabil and Dr. Who, for the excellent explanation on foxtailing...I`ve bookmarked this post, so you won`t have to repeat any of this to me :). Also, could I count on you guys vote for the ugliest foxtailed bud if need be? (blue dream, by the way)

I should have also made a note that prolonged flowering of strains, meaning over ripening can also cause foxtailing.

For instance if you just got a new cut that you arent familiar with and its flowering cycle. Over ripe or extending flowering past the prime harvest window can also lead to foxtailing of the flowers. This is also an indicator of when to harvest your girls.

Hope this helps.

Is it a trait in Sour Diesel? I'm running some SD's for the first time and they look like there foxtailing. They suffered cal/mag and where burned badly as well. I'm lucky they survived.

Hah, I was thinking the same, me and cannabil have gone around a bit before, and nothing wrong with that.
We have different grow philosophies, but if I was to try a different approach, i'd try his, or maybe darth vapours.
goes to show you that cannabis can be grown beautifully in a BUNCH of different ways.
Like I always have said, some of the best herb I've ever had was grown with nothing but alpaca manure, soil and urine.

it's like when I see people making Honda Civics fast...
sure you can totally do it, I just would start a bit differently.
But damn, I've seen some four cylinder civics that will blow the damn doors off 99% of the cars on the road.
That being said... I do drive a heavily modified Nissan four cylinder...
nothing like surprising 40 thousand dollar cars with my lil sleeper... with my dog sticking her snoot out the window as I pass them.

I see you always recommend Dr. Greenthumb's strains. Why is that? What strains have you grown from them and which one is the best in your opinion? I think there are many many underrated strains that you can try to perfection, instead of paying that much money for some beans that they always claim to be "the ORIGINAL one". Don't you think?

Oh, Hessam, His strain stability and purity are 1st rate. I have done test runs for a lot of his best stuff...
The ghost cut OG is simply awesome. The ECSD is as close to 4xSD as you can get..The #4 Chemdog is, well, the #4 cut! His prices are way good...... compare them to the botique breeders that MOST have never even looked at or heard of like RIOT SEEDS ( Matt Riot) Go look at his price's for the legendary "orange" he breed. IF IT'S EVEN AVAILABLE..... I say, try some ghost cut and see!

I 100% totally agree. I have grown almost all of Doc Greenthumb's offerings and every single one has been outstanding in every regard. When Greenthmb says it Ghost OG it's Ghost OG, like Dr. Who says, Chemdawg is REAL CHemdawg and Sour Diesel is REAL Sour Diesel. Why take a chance? Greenthumb has a lot of haters simply because he is the best around right now.

Best? In a way, in a way......He's got the breeding stock and keeps it healthy and strain clean.....There's a few other fella's I like too..They can get seriously pricey! 250+ for 15 straight run breeding beans is on the low end...

I've also found out that when the foxtailing is genetic-related, it's very symmetric and well-rounded on every side and looks totally natural, but when it's stress-related, happens at certain points and goes long and out of control and affects yield dramatically.
I know this post is old but I have a plant that has fox tailed since flower and I thought I was screwing shit up but they turned out to look like Christmas trees. Here’s a start of flower and what they look like now photo. I like the smell of this sativa strain but man this shit is on week 11 of flower and it still seems like it’s got weeks to go but Sunday m cutting. Anybody else think I cut harvest or wait it out.
