Foxtailing near harvest.

Heres the deal. This indica dom. girl has been flowering for nearly 8 weeks now. About a week ago or so ago, she began to foxtail. By this time nearly all the hairs were red about 80%. I don't have a mic. so I'm trying to go by overall look. I know pics would help but no cam either. Best I can explain is almost all hairs are orange and are curling in, except for the top of the "mini colas" petruding out of the main colas. Can't wait to taste her. It has a strong odor of bananas. Any suggestions are welcome!

The plant is ripening. They all do it pretty much.

So harvest should be soon? I thought only stressed plants or certient strains foxtail.

What do you mean foxtailing?

If they have been flowering for 8 weeks they are ripe. When the hairs turn brown its a sign of matureing.

as long as the calixes dont begin to stretch too far with stems in between. ur good lol.

Foxtailing is when what looks to be "mini colas" petrude from the buds, resembling a fox tail. I hear its due to nute and heatstress, and some sativa, sativa hybrids have this trait in there genes. I think mine was caused by heatstress. Well I harvested a few days ago, after the trim it realy resembled a fox tail. Kinda looked like fingers poking out the top. I just trimmed them of to better shape the buds. Like I said, most of the hairs were orange, except for the top of the "fingers". I wish I could post a few pics. i get them from heat stress,but i also have some that foxtail because of genetics,it helps to know your plant.

I have had fox tailing. I was told it was from too much nitrogen. It was hot as fuck in there to so perhaps the combo.

Well, I got a sativa hybrid that is nothing but calyx on calyx. More leaf than anything. This girl was a complete waste of time. Any ideas on what I can use her for besides hash?
