Two of my seedlings are mutants. One has 1 primary node, the other 3. Are the single nodes useful? I can't even see a node to continue growing, it looks like it just grew the 3 leaves and gave up lol

The other one seems pretty good. I was just leaving the crappy one to see what it does.

They can start off a little odd looking and may turn out to be hermies but,
just give them some time. They will come around.

I started a new seed in seedling dirt (no nute stress), directly under the mh (no shitty light stress) and got another triploid so I think it's probably genetic?

If one's a male and the second a female, does crossing them refine the characteristics???

I attempted to Document a journal for Mutants but was not able to post the detailed photos needed here due to the system and its thumbnail
  • I have not seen a devoted spot here dedicated to Mutants , with that said I decided to open a journal for those who seek to understand genetics that have gone wrong .. I dont have access to all of my documents and photos at this moment but in time will update with them ... I have always had an interest in chromosome modification as well as personal body modification , guess I am a freak too ...​






  • My interests in morphs and mutants began with breeding Reptiles as a Professional . I had the honor of working with the Barkers partner Professor Carmicheal . The barkers own Vida Preciosa International and they are serious Biologists and experts in there field . With that said I studied under my Professor and he revealed to me much more than I ever knew ..​

Trilateral branching , that this looks to be. I would take it for what it is and use it to your advantage this grow , more nodes more meds most likely but this is not always the case .. The defective sprout will most likely never have a chance being a mutant runt ...

In our world this happens and should be avoided when it comes to future breeding this gene pool is whacked and only trouble in the long run will arise if this is allowed to continue , and now we know why its true , the Cannabis Gene Pool is being pissed in everyday ....

Have fun my friend , growing genetic mutants is fun and can be rewarding as well just as long as you have an eye for detail and are willing to take a loss if they go south .. PotSnob

Are all the seedling like this? What brand of seed starter dirt are you using?
I wouldn't recommend Miracle Gro Seed Starter dirt!

Not bag seed. The mother was a triploid I bought as a clone. The father I raised from seeds I got from my uncle who is in his 70's and has been growing for around 50 years. He grows outdoor and he gave me 10 of his choice seeds for hooking him up with a computer decked out with software, the clones I had were a variety of indoor hybrids.

All my seeds are mixed together from 10 different mothers who were pollinated by my uncles male plant. I just randomly grabbed 2 dozen seeds, which can be any of 10 strains (I tried to choose a variety of shapes/sizes/colors out of the pile), and 2 of those happened to be triploids. So it's actually way less than 2/24 odds because there are potentially 10 different strains in that 24.

The first one (largest one in pics above) I started in potting soil under a fluorescent light which they were stretching under, so I attributed it to stress.

The second one (small pic above) I started in seedling dirt directly under the 400w mh so I doubt it's stress related.

If I get a male and female from these, would crossing them refine the traits? The mother was a vine looking thing rather than a tree. The father was twice as big as everything else started at the same time.

The mom was just called "Willy nelson" so I assume it's a made up name.

It was my first grow so they were a bit fucked.

 I like mutants too. My uncle is an entomologist(works for museums and universities) and we traveled through central america as a kid in a truck catching moths. In his collection he had hermaphrodite moths and butterflies which were just narly. I mean, half male, half female, both of which look completely different, and on a real living creature, not just a plant. Never got one with a 3rd wing though hehe

I'll keep all 3 of these to see what becomes of them.

willy nelson is a legit strain.. out in Co we have a sour diesel x willie nelson called sour willie, def a great smoke!!
