DIALux is a free industry standard lighting program. Ton and tons of options regarding light calculations, reports, objects, ... Most all large lighting manufactures have importable cast patterns for all of their lamps so you can generally find something similar to your own.

Link is here - http://www.dial.de/DIAL/en/dialux-international-download.html

Examples:

Will calculate approximate luminance and all that -

Can generate a thousand page report including everything from parts lists to individual luminance cast patterns, wall reflectivity, glare, total power consumption, how "green" you are,... with just a simple click.

Great for comparisons and just to waste time. You can even make movie walkthroughs with it.

Glad you're finding it useful. I'm figuring out new things all the time so by no means do I properly know how to use the software, but if you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll try my best.

Nice. I'd rep you again if I could. I do a lot of 3d stuff in programs like Maya and Zbrush so I should be pretty efficient at this. I'm going to definitely check it out.

Thanks everyone, but screw the rep, just post cool CAD pictures. :) I should start up on my dream grow plans - might not be a grow room tycoon game but I don't see why it can't be just as much fun :)

Sooo this doesn't install on Macs? now im mad..
Ouch. That's rough. I know Autocad took a while to cross over - assumed dialux had considering so many interior designers use it. Could always use Parallels or something similar to run it.
