what are you like? your manners, customs and sophistication? how do you talk to people. more or less how do you act around others?
I find when French people know you they are lovely and try not to hurt anyone's feelings more than English people unless tipped over the edge. Strangers aren't so warm (more like English people), like to keep themselves to themselves and don't seem to like it when things are out of place... They appear disgusted if you do not speak French, which is fair enough. Well, that's what it was like in Normandy anyway. Maybe they were just cranky from the weather.
i found italians to be the same way towards people who didn't speak italian.. my gf and i were on a train going to venice and the chic pushing the lil food cart stopped at the seats in front of ours, sold them some stuff, walked right by us and didn't even look at us, than stopped at the next set of seats located behind us... i was rather pissed as i was hungry, and i think coke sounds like coke, whether in english or italian..![]()
Are we any different? English as an official language? Discrimination against Spanish speaking folks. Santorum telling the entire population of Puerto Rico (American citizens) that they would have to abandon Spanish if they wanted to be "official" Americans. Native Americans punished for speaking their own language. The list goes on. People are people. We're all xenophobic to one degree or another.
i have no problem with expecting people in america to speak english though carne. when i was in spain, all of the signs were in what language?? wanna take a guess?? that's right, spanish, as they should be.. why is it when i go to home depot near my house, the in and out signs are in both english and spanish?? is this not america, where we speak english?? i'm so not a racist, but i have to admit that bugs the fuck out of me honestly...
i would love to learn a second language though, only for the fact that i love to travel, and hate to feel like the typical american who only speaks english, while it seems that most eupopeans speak multi languages..
i think that has more to do with the way europe is laid out, and the fact that there are many smaller countries in a small area.. it would be like your leaving the new mexico part of the four corners and going to say another states part of it, and having to speak a different language..
i've been all over europe, and so far italy was the only place i felt like i was put down for being an american.. most other countries the people went way out of their way to help me and most of the people spoke english as well as what ever language was correct for their country.. christ, in germany, i heard more english than i did german for the most part..
I hate French Canadians.
If you want to be a US citizen you gotta speak English fluently. Not really that hard to understand.
But anyways, French people are faggots, always sucking on faggots. It's pure faggotry I tell you.![]()
...I thought it was the Brits!
Many similar experiences in Paris-- ignored, refused service, wrong directions. . . felt pretty despised for being American. Pretty much put me off of ever going overseas again-- Such a shame too. I loved all of the art and architecture --but it's no fun to visit when you clearly are not wanted. . .
Most people around the world aren't fans of Americans visiting...
Wow... Cause none of those countries existed before America right..? dickhead

I hate to reply to these kind of messages (since this person has no manners hehe) but I'd like to know why? I don't think you have one but yeah...I hate French Canadians.
