Freshly Harvested Seeds not Germinating

It was my first grow, five feminised Auto Assasin seeds from Short Stuff. Two germinated, one virtually died and produced no ganja. Of the healthy plants was a male and the other a female. I was thinking at £35 for 5 seeds and only one smokable I would be better off pollonating the female for seeds and settling for a less potent smoke. It was actually still quite potent. Anyway I let it go over an extra two weeks until the seeds were virtually falling out of the pods. I harvested the seeds a couple of weeks ago but since then not one single seed has sprouted, I've tried a couple of dozen, why is this? My white dwarf seeds I just purchased were germinated the same way and they only took 24 hours to pop.

You might need to let the seeds sit a little longer. Maybe a month or so, but that is more a guess than a definite answer.

they may have too strong a shell. I had that with some tangerine dream seeds from amsterdam... Once the seeds are dry you can abrade them with sandpaper to make them easier to germinate. This could be your prob..

What a fantastic forum, thanks for your help. Ok so I wil try sanding some down and take them back out of the fridge to dry for longer. I put them in the fridge thinking that perhaps they needed to 'think' winter had just passed. Not that cannabis seeds have a central nervous system and sit around all day thinking about the forthcoming summer. LOL. And I'm not even stoned. Have run out and no way am I paying £10 per gram from the gangster. The guy I am trying to avoid buying from went to prison for nailing some poor bloke to a window frame. Wouldn't like to owe him any dosh.

I decided to try germinating about 20 seeds and after 48 hours three have sprouted so far. I was getting ready to throw them away.

let them all fall to floor and let them sitt and dry then germinte pal..
They have been drying about 2 months now and have only just began germinating. Previous attempts all failed so am thinking maybe the seed takes time to finish off, even after it has left the pod, or maybe it had more to do with the drying over time. Either way time seems to have played a part.

I've heard you have to cure the seeds with your harvested cannabis so that the seed is evenly dry throughout that way it will germinate when put into water.

Do that for 2 months or more and they will start to germinate.

I just counted, it is 28 seeds and 10 have germinated in three days. I didn't expect to see any germinate at all and is why I threw in so many seeds. Shame, I've only got a few hundred left.

Approximately eight months has past since I last tried germinating my AA seeds. About one week ago I successfully germinated 63 out of 70 AA seeds which is a 90% success rate. It looks like they need several months to dry out properly. Glad I kept them now.
