Thanks for your links Will, Ill go through and have a good read of them tomorrow.

Instead of chain and lowering the height ill try and see how the shelf groves go. Typical me i threw the shelf's out months ago but have cut a couple of lengths of timber to span and a tray can go across those. I do have a bucket of small chain so will use that if i need to.

I must say im enjoying playing with the set up and can see it paying dividends in starting my out door grow earlier than normal. In saying that id like it to also be able to be its "own concern" as it were. Doesnt need to be a big yielder as we dont smoke much and i normally have way, way, way more smoko than I need.

Wife likes me playing in the shed rather than in the bush and falling down old mine shafts... and gives her more of an insight into the growing phases. Its also a nice challenge for me. Growing outside in holes is pretty easy. Time consuming? Yes, but not all that difficult except for mother nature and the walking and packing in and the walking..did i mention all the fkn walking?...and snakes..

In regard to bickering then yes, I tried reading the "new to leds? read this thread" and gave up due to it. Which was annoying as there is so much contradictory and confusing info when searching for info as a noob.

Sounds to me like you have your head screwed on right and I am sure you will make this project a success. I envy you having a wife that has an interest in the hobby. If mine found out what I do she would have my guts for garters.

Even though I started growing outdoors as a lad in the backwoods of Virginia with copperheads and ticks your outback has a whole lot of NOPE for me. Whenever I watch something on telly about things in nature that can ruin your day Australia seems to have most of them. Here in Blighty the only natural dangers are town centres on a Friday/Saturday night. No snakes, poison bitey things, tornados, earthquakes, droughts or guns. It is a virtual oasis for a fella like me who is long in the tooth and soft in his britches.

Tons of great information here and a lot of great people. Just take what you need and leave the rest. I am really excited to see your fridge transformed into a frosty Nug-a-nator.:p

Cheers,
Will

Took many years... She had a couple of bad experiences with pot when she was younger. Was menopause and me rolling a 3 paper and saying "this may help" for her to change her mind.

Just a quick update.

Ive taken the advice on board and have upgraded to a 130w 6400k CFL 8-9k lumens from memory and same as this i think http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hydroponics-Grow-Light-CFL-130W-2700K-6400k-Bulbs-Lamps-Aluminum-Reflector-Kit-/231613619756?hash=item35ed3f5e2c:m:m3RgZAmBhzKGLYLGXE7qNzw and have ordered a flowering tube as well. Will run the LED spotlight as well for the extra light i think.

Will see how we go. Hopefully not to badly..Seeds I planted a few days ago have all popped and lookin healthy.

TY to all who contributed and it looks like im gunna "play" indoors. Have my gorilla holes dug, mix lugged in and water trap full so its going to be a busy season for me...

Cheers.
