My friend got absolutely wasted on the cooking spice, nutmeg (ground up). I was just wondering if anyone knows how long the after effects (hangover) lasts?

Gee, I hope that was fun. Depending on dose he should be normal in 12 hours. Tell your friend he's a retard.

He's not really my friend. I'm just meant to be looking after him (guess I didn't do a very good job).

BTW he wasn't delirious, just high. Very high.

Very high? I highly doubt it.....
You dont get "high" off nutmeg
Wow ignorance is a bliss u 2 just trying to get you UBER post count up or something lol. Please do you dam research before you post. Yes nutmeg will get you high in bigger quantity's but it is very toxic which is why i really wouldn't continue to abuse nutmeg :-D
"In low doses, nutmeg produces no noticeable physiological or neurological response. Large doses of 60 g (12 teaspoons) or more are dangerous, potentially inducing convulsions, palpitations, nausea, eventual dehydration, and generalized body pain In amounts of 10-40 g (4-8 teaspoons) it is a mild to medium hallucinogen, producing visual distortions and a mild euphoria. Nutmeg contains myristicin, a weak monoamine oxidase inhibitor.

A test was carried out on the substance that showed that, when ingested in large amounts, nutmeg takes on a similar chemical make-up to MDMA (ecstasy. However, use of nutmeg as a recreational drug is unpopular due to its unpleasant taste and its side effects, including dizziness, flushes, dry mouth, accelerated heartbeat, temporary constipation, difficulty in urination, nausea, and panic. A user will not experience a peak until approximately six hours after ingestion, and effects can linger for up to three days afterwards.

A risk in any large-quantity (over 25 g, ~5 teaspoons) ingestion of nutmeg is the onset of 'nutmeg poisoning', an acute psychiatric disorder marked by thought disorder, a sense of impending doom/death, and agitation. Some cases have resulted in hospitalization.

Fatal doses in children are significantly lower, with an 8-year-old boy who consumed just two nutmegs to fall into a coma, dying 20-hours later.

Nutmeg is an abortifacient, and as such any significant doses should be avoided by pregnant women.

Err... I'll admit to using nutmeg fairly regularly, like... once a week or once a fortnight or so. I think (in an amount that's best suited to you) it compliments weed very nicely. The first couple of times were UTTER SHIT, but I was still determined to believe ANY effects from the nutmeg, let alone positive ones, were all placebo effect. I found my amount that didn't leave me wanting but also didn't have me thinking my toilet bowl was consuming me like 48 hours after. I just tried nutmeg because I was bored and it sounded too good to be true. Meh, so I gave it a go... (might as well if it's readily available, inconspicuous and legal)

Hey smart one the person that started this thread and the person that that his post insulted your intelligence and you almost came off a little intimidated by it are 2 different people :/ The argument isnt about if its stupid or not to smoke it no shit its stupid ass hell to smoke it. And in my eyes AS i posted in my previous post i think its stupid and retarded. But that's NOT what the argument here is about. Its bout if it will get you high or no. Through your own ignorance you said it will NOT get you high. Which study s do show that YES it does contain the properties to get you high. WHICH is what the argument and question here was about. So before you go puffing your chest out and wanna meet me in the park after school :/ i suggest you take a reading class and actually understand what your reading ok im just saying :) Ignorance is a bliss my friend.

You're not kidding.

I tried to get loaded on nutmeg once when I was about 15. It was awful, and I tasted that shit forever. To this day, I can't stand that shit in anything. Just the smell makes me want to gag. I wish I hadn't done it, as I really used to enjoy pumpkin pie.

Obviously, what you and I call "high" are two diffrent things. I get high off weed, not a common spice found in my kitchen. You can say "you can get high off nutmeg" all you want. Like I said I could care less what you read of google. Its either that or you also smoked it yourself. I would wiki shit to but I kinda makes you come off as a know-it-all douchebag. I could care less if about learning about things I will never smoke.

it is NOT smoked. it is eaten. :wall:

you don't get "high" off it, you get "poisoned" and hallucinate.
