What I find Ironic
is you are saying your situation is not comparable with the black community
yet most black children are raised in single parent household
and even without substance abuse problems
as a whole they tend to be in the same boat as you growing up

Actually I have. I used to teach pre-school and have occasionally taught elementary, up to 6th grade.
I've studied various early childhood theorists who are pretty much variations of Piaget.
One of my favorite concepts is from DeLoache. She uses code theory to demonstrate children develop at a very early age how the world works. Whatever isn't learned by certain ages gives them challenges later on. What I found interesting is children learn easier with more abstract depictions. Writing numbers alone teaches number manipulation at least twice as fast as with real world examples such as blocks. So it's a mistake to teach things too early we as adults think would be easier.
Studies have been done show children learn about culture before age seven much easier. Even before children can talk, say they have a foreigner as a nanny who speaks to them in their native language. In Japanese one unique vowel consonant cluster is Hito (person). You keep the H hiss sound but blend with shh, keep quite sound, and end with toe. Now lets say this nanny stayed once a day then quit once the child learned his first word. Then when the child turned 6, he was taught Japanese and English. This child would learn Japanese and sound like a Japanese person, whereas a child not exposed to a foreign accent Japanese nanny would pronounce words more English like.
So what this means, a black child's and white child's only difference is the culture and language spoken with dialect. Otherwise they're the same. It's just perception. Perception is also learned before going to school. So unless everyone gets a Japanese nanny, not every child will speak Japanese like they do in Japan. It's the same with any
rubric.
