Frozen buds

yah what it sounds like, my buddy up the road brought me a half sack today of his grow from last year. Seems he's been storing it in gallon freezer bags with the air locks and then putting them in a grocery bag and storing it in his freezer. Obviously he did dry it but these are real dense nugs and probably need to dry some more. Think??? I swear my brotha is growing some kind of menthol with it, tastes kinda like a Newport seriously. But I'm high as a kite on my vaporizer right now so it could be the lovely effects of the bud herself :mrgreen:

You've been wanting to say something that made absolutely no sence? Cool!!!As for the Freezer Bud. Bad idea, too much humidity, light, Air, all things you wanna stay away from when storing weed.Air tight jar with room tempature and in the dark is the only way. You get frost burn and wetness in the freezer, resulting in mold and or low thc content. (And High CBD)Good luck with your menthol weed.... :/

you misunderstood. It was vacuum packed and in a dark and very COLD place. Not wet at all. Got me high on vape and no headache. So there goes yer CBD's

You could always make hash out of it. I make a killer bubble hash with distilled water and a blender and your supposed to freeze the pot before you start. If it tastes OK then I say good smoking Rosie.

Although, Vacced Pack is good. Freezers still create Humidity, which creates water which creates mold. You would need every single space in the bag to be packed with bud so water could not end up in the gaps. Freezers have lights when you open them, everytime that door was opened it was under a light. ROOM TEMP is best. Never cold.

And just for future reference, CBD is a Cannabinoid that Throws off the effects of THC, so that CBD is what gives the Body High, (Stoned) you dont get The Stomach Growl(Munchies) or The "I just woke up 3 hours ago why am I so tired"(Hazy) feelings.

Some strains are crossed to where CBD is the Highest % because lots of people enjoy it(Benefit from it)

As for being a "Hater" I'm far from it dude. Just sharing some good info that I think everyone should know

P.S.
If I'm not smoking Dabs the weed I smoke is so old that it is mostly CBD. Because there is nothin wrong with my head, so I don't need the "high" I need the stone. So I purposely let my weed age, and let the THC degrade. Because, I Love CBD.

You know, I've never smoked hash or made hash before. What's so great about it? I saw some once and thought it looked mighty odd so I didn't partake. Should I?

no harm no foul man, no prob. I'm just here minding my business and trying to get along, I ain't about fussin and cussin although there are many here that love to do so LOL

I'm a sativa gal myself and I dislike the couchlock effect unless I'm ready for bed or just chillin. I really am all about getting my head straight and keeping myself motivated. MaryJ always takes care of me

Cold temperatures help preserve thc longer...so yeah it does help better than room temp. Plus when you go to store it, you do it in something sealed, so no moisture can get to it. And third, exposed to too much light? My freezer door isn't open for more than maybe ten minutes a day, leaving it dark a vast majority of time. This is probably the best way to store cannabis long term, simply put.

I don't agree with what he says about the fridge. All I know is everyone I do know, places them in air tight jars and puts them in a dark colored monotub anywhere around the house where temps aren't fluctuating.

Im not trying to be a contrarian, but this is flat out wrong. Thc degrades much slower in colder temps, this is well known. And all of the other minor details are easily taken care of by storing the herb in a sealed jar. No moisture. Add a simple dessicant if you are really concerned. If you are really concerned about the couple of minutes of light that it would be exposed to, tape a peice of paper around the jar so no light gets in.

Synthetic (--)-delta 9-trans-tetrahydrocannabinol impregnated on placebo Cannabis decomposed only 6.3% after being stored for 1 year at --18 degrees. Storage at 5 degrees and room temperature under various conditions led to severe decomposition. The amount of cannabinol observed when (--)-delta 9-trans-tetrahydrocannabinol decomposed indicates that cannabinol is not the only decomposition product.

I dont believe thhat thc degrades to cbd. I believe it is THCA>THC>CBN. CBN does not produce a pleasant feeling. CBD is fantastic for pain and it regulates the high from THC but you dont get CBD from aging pot or degraded THC it is a cannnabinoid that is present in herb. If all you had to do was degrade THC to get CBD no one would be looking for high CBD strains they would just harvest their herb way late.
