Fuckin' Junkies...

Lost another life-long friend to dope today. He didn't die but he's well on his way. Over the course of a year, from afar, I watched his life fall into disarray and insanity. Arrests, jobs lost, marriages destroyed, homeless shelters...on and on and on. Nothing I could do. Today another friend and I decided he was too far gone and for our own sakes it's time to cut our ties. I feel terribly depressed but the man I knew is gone and he ain't ever coming back. Some people can beat it. And some people can't. I tried dope 2-3 times. Made me sicker than a dog. Never again. That was over ten years ago. I don't know what I expect of this post but needed to vent. Seen some good folks lost from dope, I don't even know where to begin to begin. This song is akin to my mood right now. Take care of yourselves.

I have lost too many friends to all kinds of Drugs and drinking. When get you old,like me, lots friend will begin to get to be painkiller addicts, not much different from junkies. When I was young older drug user would tell us Heroin was The Last Drug and kids are making it their first. Sorry to hear another person went to far, sorry for your lost and I know too well what you feel..rw

dope is one of the hardest drugs to get clean and stay clean from ime, maybe next to a full blown meth addict...

sounds like you did the right thing cutting ties with him.. but you never know, your friend might be lucky like i was and eventually get and stay clean.. if they want to get clean and mean it, i suggest methadone maintanance as it has worked wonders for me..

I hope he is one of the lucky ones. Unfortunately the road he's on ends at either prison or 6 feet under. I've seen it before, more times than I care to remember.

Hey, always hold out hope. I've known people to turn around from the worst...but you were right to cut ties. It sucks, but it just has to be done.

I have lost friends to heroine too. When they OD their "friends" just set them out in the alley with the trash. Makes me sick to my stomach, but what can you do ?

I had a buddy I use to smoke weed with all the time. His dealer introduced him to dope. He loved it at always wanted me to snort with him. He laced some weed on me once. I was too new to tell. I stoped chilling with him and now two years later he's still snorting. His face looks all fucked up. He just doesn't look right. You wouldn't believe he was 19. You can't help someone who doesn't want it. Good luck and sorry for your loss. Hopefully you will get him back on your side.

never tried it, im 38 but my friends back in the mid90s had a go on some shit they used to blast up, two killed themselves , one is in and out of jail -even now, and the other creature smells like garbage and steels for money (off his family) I cut ties with all of em but small town goodwill soon had me trying to help one of them out-he ripped me off.
i moved away after getting married having kids etc... the point is yea mate hard but keep your "core" circle of friends ,and thank what ever you believe in that it aint you!

I'll never understand what inspires people to try hard drugs. Everybody knows how addictive they are and how much damage they do, yet they still try it.

human nature i reakon,always want more ,i dont hate junkies, just want them to know there is a better way, hard but there is a better way.just ask those who have got clean.

i was scared shitless the first time i tried it, can't deny that.. but i think the fact that it is so taboo and the one drug that you know you should never fuck with that attracted me to it the most.. kind of had to see what was exactly so evil about it for myself kind leof deal..
plus my friend who got me into it was really into a lot of the musicians who used dope for years and years, i guess we thought that they were cool and wanted to be cool like them..
such bs, but i'm so glad i'm clean now as it was a lot of work to get to where i am now... again, good luck to your friend neo..
