From what I have seen I'd say you should be good to clone her but I'm no expert man probably best to get a second opinion, I'm at around 96% sure right now

What light cycle is the plant on right now?
I've successfully cloned a week before chop.
It takes a bit to get them turned around that deep into flower, but it can be done.

there outside atm flowering time of year they have been out there for about a week just starting to see the preflowers now

That's pushing it, but you likely won't do much to your main plant other than possibly stunting growth slightly, it seems like the worst thing that could happen is your clones don't perform as you'd like. Personally, I'd go for it. But I'm just some new guy lol. Best of luck my friend!

I'd say you should be fine to take a clone with minimal damage to your plant pre flower is just a preparation stage for readying her growth for flowering good and proper. so it's kind of between the two right now redirecting her efforts.

This may be the newbiest question ever, but why pitch the males? Do they not produce? I know about keeping them away from the females, but i thought they still produced, just not as much..
Males do not actually produce buds - just flowers.
Some thc is recoverable from them (bubble hash, BHO, Budder), just a miniscule amount though.
All in all it is not worth the risk of them fertilizing the gals.
